The Lions elevated Cabinda to the active roster Saturday.
After joining the practice squad Jan. 2, Cabinda, has been elevated from the practice squad for all three of the Lions' playoff games. In Detroit's NFC divisional-round win over the Buccaneers, Cabinda played 35 snaps -- 11 on offense and 24 on special teams -- and caught his lone target for no gain.

Cabinda played 25 total snaps (five offensive and 20 on special teams) in Detroit's Week 18 win over the Vikings and he's joining the team's active roster once again ahead of Sunday's wild-card matchup. Expect the 27-year-old to serve as the Lions' top fullback while also contributing on special teams.

The Lions reverted Cabinda to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
After spending much of the campaign on IR with a knee injury, Cabinda was activated ahead of Detroit's Week 17 loss to Dallas. He was subsequently waived but then re-signed to the team's practice squad ahead of Sunday's season finale versus Minnesota. In addition to contributing on special teams, Cabinda has also worked as both a fullback and tight end, and he has an especially good chance of being elevated for Detroit's wild-card game against the Rams on Sunday if Sam LaPorta (knee) and/or Brock Wright (hip) can't suit up.

Lions' Jason Cabinda: Designated to return from IR
The Lions designated Cabinda (knee) to return from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cabinda landed on IR on Oct. 7 due to a knee injury, and he's been working his way back since. The fullback was able to log a limited practice Wednesday, though it's not certain that he'll be ready to return for Sunday's matchup with Minnesota. Linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez has gotten some snaps at fullback while Cabinda has been out, so the former will likely return to working strictly on defense and special teams whenever Cabinda is able to get back on the field.

Detroit's fullback missed last Thursday's win over Green Bay with a knee injury that he likely sustained during the team's Week 3 contest against Atlanta. Cabinda was a non-participant during Lions practice all week, so it's no surprise that the 27-year-old was placed on IR.
