Chase Edmonds: Reverts to practice squad
Edmonds reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Edmonds didn't see a snap on offense as he operated as the Commanders' RB4 behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins. However, Edmonds did play seven snaps on special teams and returned four kickoffs for 93 yards. The Commanders are on a bye Week 12, but Edmonds could be elevated to the active roster for Week 13 against Denver on Sunday, Nov. 30 if Washington needs a returner on kickoffs and punts.

Commanders' Chase Edmonds: Elevated for Week 11
The Commanders elevated Edmonds from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
Edmonds joined the Commanders' practice squad in mid-September, and he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Spain to provide additional backfield depth behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Chris Rodriguez and Jeremy McNichols. Edmonds missed the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury and last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Buccaneers, when he turned 49 carries into 176 yards and caught 14 passes (on 17 targets) for 81 yards across 13 regular-season games.

Edmonds missed all of Tampa Bay's 2024 campaign due to a knee injury, but signing with the Commanders' practice squad Monday suggests he's moved past the issue. The 2018 fourth-round pick from Fordham last played with the Buccaneers in 2023, rushing 49 times for 176 yards while catching 14 passes for 81 yards across 13 regular-season contests. Edmonds overcame a questionable tag due to a toe injury to suit up for the postseason contest, and he filled his typically modest No. 2 role behind lead back Rachaad White. The veteran was reasonably effective with his opportunities during a 13-game regular season, recording 176 yards at 3.6 yards per carry and adding a 14-81-0 receiving line. Edmonds then had 11 carries for 31 yards and three receptions for another 26 yards during Tampa Bay's two postseason games. He's slated for unrestricted free agency this offseason after playing 2023 on a one-year deal.
