Titans' Jihad Ward: Disruptive pass rush in Week 9 loss
Ward logged four tackles (two solo), including 2.5 sacks, during the Titans' 27-20 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Ward contributed to three of the Titans' six sacks Sunday, two of which were solo takedowns of Justin Herbert in the second and fourth quarters. The veteran pass rusher did not record a sack through the first six games of the regular season, but he has accumulated 3.5 sacks over his last three games while seeing more defensive snaps due to the absence of rookie second-rounder Oluwafemi Oladejo (leg - IR).

Titans' Jihad Ward: Signs with Titans
Ward was signed by the Titans on Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
With the surprising retirement of Lorenzo Carter on Tuesday, the Titans have signed Ward to try and fill the void of his loss. The 31-year-old Ward will now join his seventh NFL franchise after coming off a year in Minnesota where he appeared in all 17 regular-season games, tallying 10 tackles.

Jihad Ward: Expected to sign with Titans
The Titans are expected to sign Ward imminently, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
The Titans suffered the surprising loss of Lorenzo Carter when he retired Tuesday, and Ward could fill a comparable pass-rushing role. Ward has multiple sacks in four of the last five seasons while playing for three different teams.

Vikings' Jihad Ward: Logs one sack in 2024
Ward logged 10 tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense and one fumble recovery across 17 regular-season games in 2024.
Ward signed a one-year, $1.79 million contract with the Vikings in March of 2024 after spending the previous two seasons with the Giants. The 2016 second-round pick out of Illinois played a mostly rotational role at defensive end, and his 10 combined tackles were his lowest output since the 2019 campaign (seven tackles across 14 regular-season games). Ward enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and will look to catch on with a team in need of a veteran defensive end.

Ward had two total tackles in Sunday's win over Atlanta.
He played on 31 of the defense's 74 snaps, as he helped fill a void with Pat Jones missing the game with a knee injury. Ward has seven total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and a fumble recovery while seeing limited time as a reserve outside linebacker.

Vikings' Jihad Ward: Finds new home
Ward agreed to a contract with the Vikings on Wednesday, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Ward has spent the last two seasons with the Giants and is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he recorded 24 tackles and a career-high five sacks in 17 games. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 287 pounds, Ward has experience at both defensive end and outside linebacker. He'll likely serve as a rotational pass rusher for Minnesota in 2024.

Giants' Jihad Ward: Tallies career-high sack total
Ward finished the 2023 campaign with 24 tackles (16 solo), including 5.0 sacks, over 17 contests.
For the third straight year, Ward played in every regular-season game, and he logged 59 percent of New York's defensive snaps over the course of the campaign. The veteran outside linebacker didn't notch a sack over the season's first 10 contests but came on strong to rack up 5.0 sacks over the Giants' final seven games to finish with a career-high mark in that category. Ward is slated to be a free agent in the offseason, and with New York lacking other pass-rushing options (only Kayvon Thibodeaux had more for the team than Ward last year), there's a chance the late-season surge could convince the organization to bring him back if the price is reasonable.

Giants' Jihad Ward: Emerges with best game of season
Ward finished Sunday's 10-7 Week 12 win over the Patriots with five tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks.
Ward posted his highest tackle total of the campaign in the victory -- prior to Sunday, he hadn't tallied more than three stops in a contest. The veteran didn't record any sacks over his first 11 games, but he's now registered 2.5 over the past two weeks, including his 1.5 sacks Sunday. The recent surge has pushed Ward to within a half-sack of tying his career-high mark of 3.0 sacks in a campaign.
