Texans' Denico Autry: Not ready to return
Autry (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Baltimore.
Autry opened the regular season on the reserve/PUP list due to lingering knee injury from the 2024 campaign. His practice window to return from the PUP list opened Wednesday, but he's not quite ready to make his 2025 debut after putting together an LP/LP/DNP practice log. Autry will have additional time to rest due to the Texans being on a bye for Week 6, which puts him in a better spot to make his regular-season debut in Week 7 against the Seahawks on Monday, Oct. 20.

Texans' Denico Autry: Practice window opens
Autry (knee) was designated to return from the reserve/PUP list Wednesday.
The veteran defensive lineman missed the Texans' first four games this season due to a lingering knee injury from 2024, but it now appears he'll return to the field soon. Autry appeared in 10 regular-season games for Houston last season, recording 13 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and three passes defended. He now has 21 days to be added to the active roster before reverting to IR and will likely serve as a rotational defensive end once healthy.

Texans' Denico Autry: Should come off PUP this week
Autry (knee) is expected to be activated this week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Week 5 is the first week that Autry is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list. Once the club makes his activation official, Autry's 21-day window will begin. The veteran defensive end recorded 13 tackles and 3.0 sacks over 10 games as a backup in 2024. Autry missed six contests last season in violation of the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

Texans' Denico Autry: Sidelined to begin season
Autry (knee) was placed on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday.
Autry played through a knee injury for most of 2024, so his placement on the active/PUP list to begin training camp was viewed as a precaution. However, he'll now be forced to remain sidelined for at least the first four games of the regular season.

Texans' Denico Autry: Lands on active/PUP list
Autry (knee) was placed on the active/PUP list Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The team is likely taking precaution with the veteran, as Autry played through a knee injury throughout much of last season. The 35-year-old is entering his 12th NFL campaign and tallied 3.0 sacks over 10 regular-season games in his first year with Houston last season. He played a rotational role on the defensive line and will likely reprise a similar role for a largely unchanged front four.

Texans' Denico Autry: Drop in production in 2024
Autry finished the 2024 regular season with 13 total tackles (eight solo), including 3.0 sacks, while also adding three passes defensed over 10 games.
Autry signed with the Texans ahead of the 2024 campaign, operating as a depth option behind Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter. Additionally, the defensive lineman was suspended for the first six games of the year for violating the NFL's policy against performance-enhancing drugs. As a result of his role and the suspension, Autry was limited to his lowest tackle total since recording 13 takedowns in 2014. The 34-year-old is under contract for one more year with Houston in 2025.
