Texans' Nick Chubb: Outperformed by Marks in win
Chubb rushed 17 times for 56 yards and brought in both targets for 13 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday.
Chubb received six more carries than rookie backfield mate Woody Marks, but the latter outgained the veteran by six yards despite the lesser workload. Marks also stood out by doubling Chubb's reception total and gaining 36 more receiving yards, but head coach DeMeco Ryans appears intent on keeping Chubb involved as both a runner and receiver. Nevertheless, with a middling 4.0 yards-per-carry average, Chubb could eventually swap places in the backfield pecking order with Marks.

Texans' Nick Chubb: Struggles in loss Monday
Chubb rushed five times for 16 yards and caught one of three targets for a loss of five yards in Monday's 27-19 loss to Seattle.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans proclaimed that he wanted to establish the run against the Seahawks, but he proceeded to give his veteran starter five carries in a game that was never quite out of reach. Chubb didn't do himself any favors, averaging a season-worst 3.2 yards per carry in the loss. Rookie Woody Marks (10-15-0) didn't fare much better on the ground, but he did catch C.J. Stroud's lone touchdown pass of the evening. Chubb had been providing a high floor for those in deeper formats prior to Sunday's dud, so it could be worth giving him another shot against San Francisco's injury-riddled defense Sunday.

Texans' Nick Chubb: In line for busy Monday
Chubb could have a busy Week 7 against Seattle on Monday, if the Texans can establish the running game, as head coach DeMeco Ryans said earlier in the week, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. "When you can run the ball, you can sustain drives," Ryans said. "That's the key. That allows (offensive coordinator Nick) Caley to be able to open up the playbook and call whatever he's installed that particular week."
Establishing the ground attack won't be easy against the Seahawks, who have allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (79.0 ypg). Chubb hasn't looked like the former All-Pro he once was in Cleveland, but he has been effective at times. And rookie Woody Marks has emerged as a potential playmaker out of the backfield. Chubb is coming off his best game of the season in Week 5, when he rushed for a season-high 61 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Ravens.
