Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Sitting out another practice
Hill (oblique) is not practicing Wednesday, Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald reports.
Hill has been on and off the practice field due to a lingering oblique injury since early August, though he's been sidelined the majority of the time. Kelly now speculates that the veteran wideout could sit out practice until the start of the regular season in order to prioritize getting back to full health in time for Week 1 against the Colts on Sunday, Sept. 7. Overall, Miami's pass-catching corps has been trending in the right direction, with Jaylen Waddle back at practice and TE Darren Waller (undisclosed) having come off the active/PUP list Wednesday, though RB De'Von Achane (calf) seems to be facing a similar recovery timetable to Hill. Expect Hill to sit out Saturday's preseason finale against the Jaguars.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Not practicing Thursday
Hill (oblique) won't practice Thursday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
The report suggests that Hill, who has been managing an oblique injury, made a push to be on the field Thursday, but the Dolphins training staff is inclined to play it safe with the wideout in order to avoid a setback. With coach Mike McDaniel having indicated that at this stage he's not planning on using his starters this weekend, per Dante Collinelli of SI.com, Hill's next chance to see game action will occur Saturday, Aug. 23 against the Jaguars.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Returning to practice Wednesday
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Wednesday that Hill (oblique) will participate in joint practices against the Lions but will continue to be monitored "so we can protect him against himself," Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post reports.
McDaniel said Hill and Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed), who will also return to practice Wednesday, both remain "day-to-day." It sounds like Hill's reps will be limited in some capacity, but it's encouraging to see him cleared to participate in joint practices. After his oblique injury forced him to sit out Miami's preseason opener against the Bears, Hill's next opportunity to log exhibition action will arrive Saturday on the road against Detroit.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Still day-to-day
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that Hill (oblique) is still day-to-day and that he's unsure whether the wide receiver will participate in joint practices this week with the Lions, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
McDaniel said the same of fellow starting wideout Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed), who like Hill sat out Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears. There haven't yet been any serious warning flags raised regarding the status of either Hill or Waddle for Week 1, but it's less than ideal for both of Miami's star receivers to be missing reps at this stage. One or both of them could still take part in the joint practices however, with McDaniel saying "they're definitely in the conversation," per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Not on track to play Sunday
Based on pregame warmups, Hill (oblique) is not in line to play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
It appears the Dolphins will be without their top wideout duo with both Hill and Jaylen Waddle absent from warmups. Hill currently is working through an oblique injury, and his next opportunity to suit up will be this coming Saturday against the Lions.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Has oblique injury
Hill is dealing with an oblique injury, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Hill, who was absent from Wednesday's session, was present Friday (as he was Thursday), but not in pads. With that in mind, it doesn't seem likely that the wideout will play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Present for Thursday's practice
Hill (undisclosed) suited up for Thursday's practice Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
After being absent from Wednesday's session, Hill was on the field one day later, though Schad notes that the wideout mostly worked on lower-body stretching and sprinting with trainers in the process. While his presence Thursday is encouraging, it's unclear if Hill will play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Absent due to undisclosed injury
Hill is absent from Wednesday's practice with an undisclosed injury, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
It's the first report of any health trouble since Hill declared himself fully recovered from offseason wrist surgery at the start of training camp. He's played 15 or more regular-season games in eight of his nine professional seasons, including either 16 or 17 appearances each of the past four years.
