Lions' Zach Cunningham: Heading to IR
Detroit placed Cunningham (hamstring) on its injured reserve list Wednesday, Jacob Richman of mlive.com reports.
Cunningham returned to action in Week 7 versus the Buccaneers after a three-game absence due to a hamstring issue, but he aggravated the injury during that contest, and now he'll have to miss at least the next four games, too. Most of his snaps this year have come on special teams, so the Lions will have to try to find a way to replace his production in that phase in the meantime.

Lions' Zach Cunningham: Aggravates hamstring issue
Cunningham is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Buccaneers due to a hamstring injury, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Cunningham returned from a three-game absence caused by a hamstring injury for Monday's game but has seemingly aggravated the issue. That would suggest he's unlikely to return, though he hasn't officially been ruled out.

Lions' Zach Cunningham: Past hamstring injury
Cunningham (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Cunningham missed the Lions' last three games due to a hamstring injury. His ability to practice in full Thursday indicates that he is past the issue and on track to play against the Buccaneers on Monday. The veteran linebacker mostly served on special teams prior to his injury and has six tackles (four solo) through three regular-season games.

Lions' Zach Cunningham: Ruled out Week 6
Cunningham (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Kansas City, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.
Cunningham will miss a third consecutive game due to a hamstring injury he sustained during practice leading up to the Lions' Week 4 clash against the Browns. He wasn't able to practice this past week, so he'll aim to return to the field in at least a limited capacity ahead of the Lions' Week 7 home tilt against the Buccaneers on Monday, Oct. 20.

Lions' Zach Cunningham: No go for Week 4
Cunningham (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Browns, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
Cunningham appears to have picked up a hamstring injury at practice this week, which will now sideline him in Week 4. In his absence, Trevor Nowaske and Grant Stuard could absorb some workload at middle linebacker versus Cleveland.

Lions' Zach Cunningham: Going to Motor City
Detroit signed Cunningham on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Cunningham has played for four different NFL teams in his career, most recently suiting up for seven regular-season games with Denver in 2024. For the first time though, the linebacker was used more frequently on special teams than on defense. He'll probably only fill a depth role for the Lions in 2025, and Cunningham's days of being a lock for 100-plus tackles in a season would seem to be long behind him.

Broncos' Zach Cunningham: Signed to Denver's active roster
The Broncos signed Cunningham off the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday, Eric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
Cunningham played in 13 regular-season games for the Eagles in 2023 and posted 85 tackles (54 solo), four pass defenses and one fumble recovery, but he wasn't with a team during training camp. He eventually caught on with the Broncos on the practice squad in late September to provide depth at inside linebacker after Alex Singleton tore his ACL in Week 3 against the Buccaneers. Cunningham has been elevated by the Broncos for the last three games, and over his last two outings he logged three tackles (one solo) while playing 21 snaps (13 on defense, eight on special teams). Now that he's on the 53-man roster, Cunningham will continue to serve as a rotational inside linebacker behind starters Justin Strnad and Cody Barton.

Eagles' Zach Cunningham: Finishes with 85 tackles
Cunningham ended the year with 85 tackles (54 solo) and a pair of fumble recoveries in 13 regular-season games.
Hamstring and knee issues cost Cunningham four of the final six weeks of the season, but he returned for Week 18 and the playoffs, so he should be good to go for next season. He's still capable of putting up a high tackle total, though his 85 stops paled in comparison from his league-leading 164 from 2020.
