  • Khiry Robinson: Invited to Jets' minicamp

Robinson (leg) has been invited to participate in the Jets' minicamp as a tryout.

The Jets released Robinson in March, as he had a prolonged recovery from a broken leg. However, the team has opted to bring him back to minicamp as a tryout. Coach Todd Bowles stated, "We just wanted to see where he was physically" in reference to Robinson's invite. The veteran figures to compete for a job providing depth at running back if he is able to stay healthy.

  • Khiry Robinson: Released by Jets

Robinson (leg) was released by the Jets on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Robinson played in just one game for New York last season before breaking his leg and being placed on injured reserve. He's now an unrestricted free agent, but may struggle to sign with another team until his leg is healed and he's able to pass a physical.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Placed on IR

Robinson (leg) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, Randy Lange of the team's official site reports.

Robinson broke his leg in Saturday's loss to the Patriots, the second time he's done so in the past two seasons. Saturday was the only time he took the field this season, rushing for 22 yards on eight attempts. The Jets added fellow running back Brandon Burks to the active roster to replace Robinson for the final game of the season.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Breaks leg again

Robinson will miss the rest of the season due to a broken leg, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

The development marks the second time in as many seasons that Robinson will be felled by a leg fracture. In Week 8 last year, he broke the tibia in his right leg as a member of the Saints. Quickly reaching agreement on a contract with the Jets in free agency, he made just one appearance in the preseason before he was among the team's final cuts. He didn't land another gig until early December (again with the Jets) and made his sole showing of the current campaign Saturday in New England, where he managed eight carries for 22 yards. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Robinson has now suffered three separate breaks in this particular leg, meaning he may be hard-pressed to land anything more than a prove-it deal in the offseason.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Suits up Saturday

Robinson (leg) is listed as active for Saturday's game against the Patriots.

With Matt Forte inactive Saturday, Robinson and Brandon Wilds will provide the Jets with Week 16 backfield depth behind Bilal Powell.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Limited Wednesday

Robinson (leg) was limited at practice Wednesday.

Robinson was held out of action with a lower-leg injury last week against the Dolphins, and his status is now clouded as the Jets' Week 16 matchup with New England approaches. More information should emerge over the next two days of practice, but if Robinson is ultimately held out, Bilal Powell would likely again handle the bulk of the rushing workload with Matt Forte's (shoulder) status in jeopardy.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Inactive Saturday

Robinson (lower leg) is inactive for Saturday's matchup with the Dolphins.

Robinson came into Saturday's contest with a doubtful designation, so it does not come as a big surprise that he will be held out. Robinson's absence leaves Brandon Wilds as the Jets' third-string running back for Week 15, but Matt Forte and Bilal Powell figure to handle the bulk of the work in the Jets' backfield.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Doubtful to play Saturday

Robinson (lower leg) is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against the Dolphins, NJ.com reports.

With Matt Forte a game-time decision for the contest, the Jets' backfield depth could be taxed Saturday if their No. 1 rusher is unable to suit up. If Forte is out, Robinson and Brandon Wilds would be in line to serve as the backups behind Bilal Powell.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Misses practice, but close to playing

Robinson (lower leg) did not practice Wednesday, NJ.com reports.

On the plus side, coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Robinson is "close" to being ready to play. If Robinson is deemed healthy enough to suit up this weekend, he and Brandon Wilds would be candidates to serve as the Jets' No. 2 running back behind Bilal Powell in the event that Matt Forte can't play Saturday against the Dolphins.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Out this week

Robinson (leg) won't play Sunday against the 49ers.

Robinson, whom the Jets recently re-signed, has yet to practice this week and his looming absence paves the way for Brandon Wilds to serve as the team's No. 3 RB this weekend behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Re-joins depth RB mix

Robinson has re-signed with the Jets.

Robinson had been waived with an injury designation back in September after injuring his leg, but evidently he is healthy again and thus capable of providing the Jets with backfield depth behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell.

  • Khiry Robinson: Waived by Jets

Robinson was waived by the Jets on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

The Jets' addition of running back Troymaine Pope likely led to the team's decision to part ways with the 26-year-old Robinson. He figures to catch on elsewhere as a depth back before long.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Gets 13 carries Thursday

Robinson (lower leg) saw 13 rushes and ran for 25 yards in the Jets' preseason finale against the Eagles.

Robinson hasn't played since breaking his leg last November, and his return was an encouraging sign. His yards per carry was only 1.9 but it was his first game action of the preseason. He's expected to be the Jets No. 3 running back behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell to open the regular season.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: No go Thursday

Robinson (lower leg) won't take the field for Thursday's preseason opener against the Jaguars.

Just three days removed since his activation from the PUP list, Robinson will be held out as he builds up his workload in advance of the regular season. While it's unclear if he'll log any exhibition snaps over the next month, he'll serve as one of Matt Forte's (hamstring) primary backups with Bilal Powell.

  • Jets' Khiry Robinson: Participates in positional drills only

Robinson (leg) only participated in positional drills after being removed from the physically unable to perform list and returning to practice, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

Robinson managed to practice for the first time since breaking his tibia last November, but he wasn't able to participate fully. His return is an encouraging sign for the back, who'll look to hold down the spot as the Jets' third option out of the backfield.
