Logan Woodside: Cut from Pittsburgh's PS
The Steelers cut Woodside from the practice squad Tuesday.
Woodside's removal from the practice squad indicates that one or both of Will Howard (hand) and Skylar Thompson (hamstring) are ready to return from injured reserve. Woodside will hit the open market and should garner interest from teams looking to add a scout team quarterback.

Logan Woodside: Back with Pittsburgh
Woodside signed with the Steelers' practice squad Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
The 2018 seventh-round pick from Toledo signed with the Steelers in early August but failed to make the initial 53-man roster and was cut. With both Will Howard (hand) and Skylar Thompson (hamstring) now on injured reserve, Woodside's signing ensures quarterback depth in Pittsburgh. He'll likely be elevated to the active roster and serve as the Steelers' emergency third quarterback for Sunday's matchup against the Seahawks.

Logan Woodside: Time up in Pittsburgh
The Steelers cut Woodside on Friday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Woodside inked with Pittsburgh in early August but was never a strong candidate to make the 53-man roster with the team already having all of Mason Rudolph, Will Howard (hand) and Skylar Thompson available behind starter Aaron Rodgers. The 30-year-old quarterback will need to look for a reserve opportunity elsewhere in the league.

Steelers' Logan Woodside: Signs with Steelers
Woodside signed a contract with the Steelers on Thursday.
Woodside was released by the Bengals in April after spending the 2024 season bouncing back and forth between the team's practice squad and active roster. Having spent time with Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in Tennessee and Atlanta, the 30-year-old quarterback will act as a depth piece for the team while rookie Will Howard is dealing with a hand fracture.

Logan Woodside: Let loose by Bengals
Cincinnati released Woodside on Sunday.
Woodside joined the Bengals' practice squad last August and served as the team's emergency QB behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning in 2024. While he never appeared in a game for Cincinnati, he re-signed with the team in April and looked primed to compete with undrafted rookie Payton Thorne for the QB3 role. But he was released in a flurry of moves by the Bengals on Sunday, which included signing former Falcons starting quarterback Desmond Ridder. Woodside will now look to compete for a backup role elsewhere this preseason.

Bengals' Logan Woodside: Signed by Cincinnati
The Bengals signed Woodside to a contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Woodside spent time during the 2024 campaign bouncing between Cincinnati's practice squad and active roster, and he worked as the team's emergency No. 3 quarterback on occasion. He looks primed to spend the offseason competing for a practice squad role behind Joe Burrow and Jake Browning.

Logan Woodside: Staying with Cincinnati
The Bengals signed Woodside to their practice squad Tuesday.

Logan Woodside: Let go by Cincinnati
The Bengals waived Woodside on Monday.
The reserve signal-caller will be sent to the waivers by Cincinnati in a move that coincides with the promotion of defensive end Isaiah Thomas to the active roster from the practice squad. Woodside hasn't thrown a pass this season while usually serving as the Bengals' emergency third quarterback, and he has just seven pass attempts in his four-season career.

Bengals' Logan Woodside: Available as emergency QB
Woodside (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.
The quarterback is, however, available in case Joe Burrow and Jake Browning get injured, sick or ejected. Woodside just signed from Cincinnati's practice squad to the active roster Saturday. The 2018 seventh-round pick has just seven career pass attempts.

Bengals' Logan Woodside: Signed to 53-man roster
The Bengals signed Woodside from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday.
Woodside has thrown just four passes over parts of four NFL seasons, and he's spent the campaign to this point on Cincinnati's practice squad. Joe Burrow and Jake Browning -- the team's No. 1 and No. 2 options at quarterback -- are both currently healthy, so Woodside's signing may just be a good-faith move to provide him with a game check. The Bengals had a roster spot open up Saturday with linebacker Joe Bachie (groin) landing on IR.

Logan Woodside: Inks practice squad deal
Woodside signed with the Bengals' practice squad Wednesday.
Woodside returned to Cincinnati on a one-year contract in April, but he was unable to beat out Jack Browning (ribs) for the No. 2 job behind Joe Burrow. The Toledo product will instead operate as the No. 3 option from the practice squad.
