Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Will have normal role Week 15
Ogunbowale is expected to be a depth option Sunday, as Woody Marks, who opened the week with a knee injury, carries no injury designation ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the Cardinals.
The week started with both Marks and Nick Chubb (ribs) as non-participants in Wednesday's practice, opening a window slightly for Ogunbowale. Since then, Marks logged a limited practice Thursday and was a full participant Friday. Chubb sat out Thursday and got on the field Friday for a limited session, which included stretching on the side and working with the training staff. Ogunbowale could steal snaps from Chubb, but it looks like Marks should be a workhorse against Arizona.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Possible lead role dims
Ogunbowale's chances of being Houston's lead back dimmed Thursday, when Woody Marks (knee) was a limited participant.
While Marks is trending in the right direction, Nick Chubb (ribs) is not. The latter was a DNP for a second straight day Thursday. If those trends continue heading into Sunday, then Ogunbowale could still be in line for increased volume on offense as the top backup to Marks.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Awaits word on injured teammates
Ogunbowale could be Houston's lead back Week 15 as both Woody Marks (knee) and Nick Chubb (ribs) were non participants at Wednesday's practice.
During Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City, when Chubb was ruled out early and Marks was forced off the field for one play, Ogunbowale made the most of his one snap, rushing for a five-yard touchdown. He could receive a greater volume of snaps this week against Arizona pending the health situation of the injured backs. Ogunbowale has never been a big factor as a runner; he has just four carries in 13 games this season and never had more than 42 in any of his four seasons with the Texans.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Hits paydirt in win
Ogunbowale had one carry for five yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-10 win over Kansas City in Week 14.
On his only offensive snap of the game, Ogunbowale weaved his way through an opening and ran over a couple of defenders for the go-ahead touchdown. It was just his second red-zone carry of the season. The opportunity came about because Nick Chubb (ribs) had been earlier removed from the game, and Woody Marks was injured on the previous play. Depending on the health of Marks and Chubb for a Week 15 contest against Arizona, Ogunbowale could be in line for more snaps than usual on offense.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Two touches in Week 8 win
Ogunbowale played 13 of the Texans' 80 snaps on offense and finished with a nine-yard rush and an eight-yard reception in Sunday's 26-15 win over the 49ers.
The Texans' special-teams captain, Ogunbowale is a staple of Houston's kick-coverage units, but he occasionally makes cameos on offense as a passing-down back. However, unless the Texans are without both of Nick Chubb and Woody Marks in a given week, Ogunbowale is unlikely to see enough snaps to warrant attention in fantasy circles. Through seven games, Ogunbowale has carried three times for 18 yards and has recorded three receptions for 25 yards on four targets.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Back in special teams role
Ogunbowale played exclusively on special teams in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Jaguars.
This was the first time in three weeks that Ogunbowale did not get on the field with the offense, despite him being one of only three backs active for the game. Houston is still without lead back Joe Mixon (foot), but only Nick Chubb and Woody Marks are benefitting. Neither Ogunbowale nor Dameon Pierce -- inactive for a second straight week -- have a meaningful role on offense.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Plays 10 snaps in loss
Ogunbowale was on the field for 10 offensive snaps but did not have a carry or target in Monday's 20-19 loss to Tampa Bay.
The Texans made Dameon Pierce inactive for the contest, but Ogunbowale remained in his usual special teams role. Instead, it was rookie Woody Marks (13 snaps) taking on a larger role in the offense.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Rare fumble seals team's fate
Ogunbowale had two carries for nine yards, caught both of his targets for 17 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Rams in Week 1.
The lost fumble is all anyone will remember from Ogunbowale's day. It came late in the fourth quarter with the Texans inside the Los Angeles 20-yard line, and it was the team's final offensive play of the game. Ogunbowale had the ball punched from his arms, and then the Rams killed the clock. It was just the third fumble (second one lost) in nine NFL seasons. On a positive note, his 17 snaps were the second most in the backfield behind Nick Chubb (32) and ahead of Dameon Pierce (seven) and Woody Marks (seven). Pierce is still considered the second back, but the way the game unfolded led to Ogunbowale, Houston's third-down back, being on the field more often.

Texans' Dare Ogunbowale: Projected for 53-man
Ogunbowale is expected to earn a roster spot in the initial 53-man roster projection compiled by DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com.
This is not shocking news, as Ogunbowale has organizational history on his side. He's filled a third-down role for the last three seasons in Houston and served on special teams. He's even been used as an emergency kicker. There could be an early-season bump in activity if Joe Mixon (ankle) opens the regular season on the reserve/non-football injury list.
