Top Cooper Kupp News

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Inactive Sunday, as expected

Kupp (heel/hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's contest at Washington.

Kupp opened Week 9 prep as a full participant with a heel injury, but a hamstring issue arose Thursday that limited him and then kept him out of drills entirely Friday. A questionable designation for Kupp ensued, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Saturday night that the veteran wide receiver was unlikely to suit up Sunday. Now that Kupp's lack of availability is confirmed, he'll join Jake Bobo (Achilles) and Dareke Young (quadriceps) in street clothes. No. 1 WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba dominates the attention of QB Sam Darnold, but rookie fifth-round pick Tory Horton figures to garner looks behind Smith-Njigba, and practice-squad elevations Cody White and Ricky White also will be on hand for snaps and targets.

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Likely to sit out Week 9

Kupp (heel/hamstring), who is officially questionable to play Sunday versus Washington, is not expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Coming out of a Week 8 bye, Kupp first appeared on the injury report Wednesday due to a heel injury, and he was then listed with an additional hamstring issue Thursday. After not practicing Friday, he entered the weekend deemed questionable, and he looks to be trending toward missing his first game of the season. With Kupp on track to sit out, rookie Tory Horton will likely move into the No. 2 wideout role behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba for Seattle. With depth wideouts Jake Bobo (Achilles) and Dareke Young (quadriceps) already ruled out, the Seahawks elevated Cody White and Ricky White from their practice squad to round out the position group.

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Questionable for Sunday night

Kupp (heel/hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Washington, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

No. 3 wideout Tory Horton could get more playing time than usual, with Kupp listed as questionable while backups Jake Bobo (Achilles) and Dareke Young (hip) have already been ruled out. It's a situation where practice-squad promotions won't necessarily provide information on Kupp's chances to play, as the Seahawks need depth at wide receiver even if it turns out the 32-year-old is fine to handle his usual role. Kupp opened the week as a full practice participant, listed with only a heel injury, before downgrading to limited Thursday and having a hamstring injury added to the report. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald with confirmed with Dugar on Friday that the hamstring injury happened during practice -- perhaps not the best sign for Kupp's odds of avoiding the inactive list ahead of an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday night.

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Tending to hamstring injury

Kupp (heel/hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

One day removed from being listed as full with just a heel injury Wednesday, Kupp experienced a downgrade in activity level as a hamstring issue was added to Seattle's practice report. His status thus is worth monitoring as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's game at Washington. With Jake Bobo (Achilles) limited Thursday and Dareke Young (quadriceps) unable to practice so far this week, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tory Horton are the only healthy wide receivers on the Seahawks' active roster at the moment.

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: Throws INT on trick play

Kupp caught his only target for 32 yards and threw an interception on a failed trick play in Monday's 27-19 win over the Texans.

The Seahawks tried to get cute in the second quarter with a wide receiver pass play that resulted in an interception for Kupp. Depending on league settings, the veteran wideout's rare turnover may have erased more than half of his fantasy production Monday. Only getting one target is the more concerning takeaway after Kupp scored his first touchdown as a member of the Seahawks in Week 6. The 32-year-old will carry a 24-293-1 receiving line into Seattle's upcoming bye week before resuming play against the Commanders on Nov. 2.

  • Seahawks' Cooper Kupp: First TD as Seahawk

Kupp secured two of three targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' 20-12 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

Kupp got into the end zone for the first time as a member of the Seahawks, recording an 11-yard touchdown grab early in the third quarter. The veteran wideout remains a distant No. 2 in the offense's pecking order behind No. 1 receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had another prolific afternoon Sunday and has logged 56 targets to Kupp's 32. Kupp has now been under 60 receiving yards for four straight games heading into a challenging Week 7 home matchup against the Texans on Monday night, Oct. 20.
