Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Lands on injured reserve
Saubert (calf) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Saubert was unable to practice all week due to his calf injury, and his movement to injured reserve gives Nick Kallerup at least four weeks of opportunity for more offensive snaps at tight end behind AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo. According to Boyle, a main reason for the move to injured reserve is making space on the active roster for additions such as safety Jerrick Reed II.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Ruled out for Week 9
Saubert (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
A calf injury prevented Saubert from practicing all week, and his absence for Week 9 gives Nick Kallerup the opportunity for more offensive snaps at tight end behind AJ Barner and Elijah Arroyo. Saubert will aim to return in Week 10 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 9.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Sits out of practice again
Saubert (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
The tight end also missed Wednesday's session. Saubert has one catch for 12 yards in seven games this season, though he has contributed as a blocker. Nick Kallerup would likely step into that role if Saubert can't go this Sunday night against the Commanders.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Back with Seattle
The Seahawks signed Saubert on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
As expected, Saubert is back with the Seahawks after he was released in a procedural move Wednesday. Saubert has just one catch for 12 yards across seven appearances this season but has been a big asset as a blocker.

Eric Saubert: Getting released
Seattle released Saubert on Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Per Henderson, the move is believed to be purely procedural, and the Seahawks are expected to sign Saubert again soon. Through seven games so far this season, he's drawn just one target over 145 offensive snaps.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: No targets once again
Saubert wasn't targeted in Monday's 27-19 win over the Texans.
Saubert has been targeted just once through seven games this season. He has consistently played at least 25 percent of the offensive snaps in each game, so he's still a reliable run blocker.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: No looks in Week 2
Saubert wasn't targeted in Sunday's 31-17 win over the Steelers.
Saubert barely played in the season opener. However, he handled a 38 percent snap share in Week 2, essentially splitting the No. 2 duties with tookie Elijah Arroyo. Saubert should continue to add depth and run-blocking stability to the Seahawks' offense.

Seahawks' Eric Saubert: Joining Seattle
Saubert signed with the Seahawks on Monday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
With the signing, the tight end joins his eighth team as he heads into his ninth NFL campaign. Saubert spent 2024 with the 49ers, playing in all 17 regular-season games and catching 11 passes for 97 yards and a score. The veteran has played more on special teams than offense in five of his eight NFL seasons, and he should begin his time with Seattle behind at least Noah Fant and AJ Barner on the depth chart.

49ers' Eric Saubert: Solid in backup role
Saubert recorded 11 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown across 17 games this season.
The veteran tight end was brought in to serve as a reliable backup to superstar tight end George Kittle in 2024. Saubert filled that role well, providing his usual strong blocking and sure hands while making two spot-starts for San Francisco. The 31-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent after completing his one-year deal with the 49ers.

49ers' Eric Saubert: No targets in Week 15
Saubert played 17 of the 49ers' 54 snaps on offense and went without a target in Thursday's 12-6 loss to the Rams.
Since playing a season-high 55 snaps in a Week 11 loss to the Seahawks while starting in place of the injured George Kittle, Saubert's role on offense has predictably been scaled back in recent weeks. While Kittle has suited up in each of the ensuing four contests, Saubert has drawn just two total targets and has played less than one-third of the offensive snaps in every game.
