  • Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Placed on IR

Canady (concussion) was moved to injured reserve Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

  • Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Ruled out Sunday

Canady has been diagnosed with a concussion and will not return to Sunday's game against the Patriots, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

If there is good news here for Canady, it's that the Cowboys have a bye in Week 7, so he gets two weeks to recover. His absence will mostly be felt on special teams.

  • Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Being checked for concussion

Canady has left Sunday's game against the Patriots to be evaluated for a concussion, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Canady's absence leaves the Cowboys without one of their depth options in the secondary. C.J. Goodwin could see extra snaps at cornerback as a result.

  • Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Back in Dallas for 2021

Canady is returning to the Cowboys after opting out of the 2020 season, David Helman of the team's official site reports.

Canady has yet to take the field for Dallas after signing with the team back in March 2020, as the cornerback chose to opt out of last season. A veteran originally drafted by the Ravens in 2016, Canady will now be competing for a roster spot in the Cowboys' secondary during their upcoming training camp.

  • Cowboys' Maurice Canady: Accepts voluntary opt-out

Canady will not play in 2020 after accepting the NFL's opt-out option for the year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
