Tavon Young: Reaches injury settlement
The Bears released Young (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Saturday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Young was slated to miss the entire 2022 campaign after landing on IR at the end of August, but he'll now be free to join a new team once he clears his current injury. Last year, Young appeared in 17 games for Baltimore and racked up 35 tackles, two sacks and three pass defenses.

Bears' Tavon Young: Sent to IR
The Bears placed Young (undisclosed) on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Young was in the mix to compete for Chicago's slot corner role back in training camp, but he's now set to miss the entire 2022 campaign due to an undisclosed injury unless he works out an injury settlement with the team. Last year, Young appeared in 17 games for Baltimore and racked up 35 tackles, two sacks and three passes defended.

Bears' Tavon Young: Battling for role
Young is expected to compete for the slot corner role with rookie Thomas Graham, Brendan Sugrue of USA Today reports.
Young allowed a passer rating of 85.1 last year, which was significantly better than the veteran corners the Bears posted last year. Although he could be the favorite to win the slot corner role, in recent practices, the Bears have moved rookie Kyler Gordon into the slot when the team used three receivers. As a result, the team moved Kindle Vildor to the outside while Young moved to the sideline. So even if he's listed as the starting slot corner, Young's IDP value will hinge on whether Gordon moves to the slot on passing downs.

Bears' Tavon Young: Headed to Chicago
Young signed a one-year contract with the Bears on Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Young was released by the Ravens on March 9 after spending the first four seasons of his career with the team. His role decreased significantly in 2021, though he still managed to log 35 tackles, two sacks and three passes defended across 17 games. Young could compete with Duke Shelley for a significant role in Chicago's secondary in 2022.
