  • Tavon Young: Reaches injury settlement

The Bears released Young (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Saturday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Young was slated to miss the entire 2022 campaign after landing on IR at the end of August, but he'll now be free to join a new team once he clears his current injury. Last year, Young appeared in 17 games for Baltimore and racked up 35 tackles, two sacks and three pass defenses.

  • Bears' Tavon Young: Sent to IR

The Bears placed Young (undisclosed) on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Young was in the mix to compete for Chicago's slot corner role back in training camp, but he's now set to miss the entire 2022 campaign due to an undisclosed injury unless he works out an injury settlement with the team. Last year, Young appeared in 17 games for Baltimore and racked up 35 tackles, two sacks and three passes defended.

  • Bears' Tavon Young: Battling for role

Young is expected to compete for the slot corner role with rookie Thomas Graham, Brendan Sugrue of USA Today reports.

Young allowed a passer rating of 85.1 last year, which was significantly better than the veteran corners the Bears posted last year. Although he could be the favorite to win the slot corner role, in recent practices, the Bears have moved rookie Kyler Gordon into the slot when the team used three receivers. As a result, the team moved Kindle Vildor to the outside while Young moved to the sideline. So even if he's listed as the starting slot corner, Young's IDP value will hinge on whether Gordon moves to the slot on passing downs.

  • Bears' Tavon Young: Headed to Chicago

Young signed a one-year contract with the Bears on Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

Young was released by the Ravens on March 9 after spending the first four seasons of his career with the team. His role decreased significantly in 2021, though he still managed to log 35 tackles, two sacks and three passes defended across 17 games. Young could compete with Duke Shelley for a significant role in Chicago's secondary in 2022.

  • Tavon Young: Let go by Ravens

    The Ravens have released Young.

The move frees up some cap space for the Ravens ahead of NFL free agency. The 2016 fourth-rounder, who logged 35 tackles and one interception in 17 games last season, will now look to catch on elsewhere with a team looking to add an option at slot cornerback.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Suffers injury

Young didn't play much late in the Ravens' loss to the Steelers on Sunday due to a hamstring injury, according to head coach John Harbaugh, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Young will now have the offseason to recover from the injury, as the loss to the Steelers officially ended the Ravens' season.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Ready for Week 16

Young (concussion) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Cincinnati, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Young suffered the concussion last week against the Packers but cleared the concussion protocol this week and is good to go Sunday. He should continue to play a significant role in Baltimore's banged-up secondary.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Being evaluated for concussion

Young is being evaluated for a concussion and might not return to Sunday's game against the Packers.

Young suffered the injury in the first half and further tests will be needed to determine whether he can return to the gridiron. If he can't return, Kevon Seymour or Robert Jackson might be in line to see increased snaps.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Ruled out Sunday

Young (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Packers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

The loss of Young leaves the Ravens particularly shorthanded as they already have three other members of the secondary on the COVID list. He registered one assisted tackle before departing.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Available for SNF

Young (foot/knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Young was a limited participant in Friday's practice after he was held out for each of the first two sessions of the week. He could see an uptick in playing time against Cleveland since the Ravens' cornerbacks are dealing with several injuries.

  • Ravens' Tavon Young: Questionable against Browns

Young (foot/knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Cleveland.

Young, Anthony Averett (thigh) and Chris Westry (thigh) are all questionable after logging limited practices Friday. Jimmy Smith (neck) is also questionable, though his inability to practice at all suggests he's fighting an uphill battle to suit up. Top cornerback Marlon Humphrey is healthy and ready to go, but who else will be available in Baltimore's secondary for Sunday's clash with the Browns remains up in the air.
