Menelik Watson: Waived from IR with settlement
The Broncos waived Watson (pectoral) from injured reserve Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Watson was expected to be a starter after signing a three-year, $18.75 million contract in 2017. He couldn't stay healthy this preseason to prove himself, so he was let go and Jared Veldheer will get the nod at right tackle in Week 1.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Headed for IR, awaiting release
Watson (pectoral) will be placed on injured reserve and eventually released by the Broncos upon his return to full health, The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala reports.
Watson simply didn't play up to the standards set by his three-year, $18.75 million contract signed in 2017, when the Broncos hoped to secure a consistent starter at right tackle. He appeared in just seven games before being placed on IR with a foot injury, and a non-related pectoral issue has plagued Watson throughout the preseason. An expected total of $6.8 million will count against the Broncos in dead money this season due to Watson's salary and signing bonus.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Considered week-to-week
Watson is considered week-to-week after undergoing an MRI that revealed a strained pectoral, Mike Klis of 9News.com reports.
Watson avoided a tear in his pectoral muscle, but he could miss the remainder of the preseason if the Broncos elect not to rush him back prior to Week 1 of the regular season. The 29-year-old veteran is slated to provide depth at right guard upon his return to full health.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Undergoes MRI
Watson had an MRI on Thursday morning on his strained pectoral, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Watson has been sidelined with the pectoral injury for a little over a week now, and with seemingly no progress being made, the team has elected to have further testing done. Expect an update on Watson once the Broncos get the results back.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Nursing pectoral injury
Watson sat out of Wednesday's practice with a pectoral injury, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
This is rather unappetizing news for Watson, who currently finds himself battling for a roster spot. As of right now there is no timetable for how long he'll be out, but every day he isn't on the field bodes negatively for his chances of making the final roster.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: On roster bubble
Watson is on the roster bubble in Denver, Jeff Legwold of ESPN reports.
The Broncos signed Watson last offseason with the intention he could be the solution at right tackle, but Watson missed nine games due to injuries before ending the season on injured reserve with a torn tendon in his foot. While it's convenient to thus profile him as a potential roster cut, Denver would only save about $350,000 by releasing him this summer, per OTC, so Watson is likely to stick around for at least one more season in Denver. Seemingly recovered from said foot injury, Watson was moved to offensive guard in spring workouts and will compete for a starting role with third-year offensive lineman Connor McGovern.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Hits IR with foot issue
Watson will be placed on injured reserve Wednesday due to a foot injury, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports.
Watson had been slowed by a calf issue in recent weeks, but was able to suit up for Sunday's loss to the Eagles, only to sustain a foot injury during the contest. After signing Watson to a three-year deal in March, the Broncos had hoped that he would provide an upgrade at right tackle over Donald Stephenson (calf), but Watson's poor health seemed to affect his play, as the veteran had surrendered 7.5 sacks. The Broncos will sign offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio to bolster their depth at the position.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Practices in full
Watson (calf) was a full participant at Friday's practice.
Watson was forced to miss his first game of the season due to a calf injury in the Broncos' Week 7 loss to the Chargers. However, after practicing in limited fashion Thursday, the offensive lineman returned to practice in full Friday, and he appears on track to take the field Monday against the Chiefs barring any setbacks.

Broncos' Menelik Watson: Day-to-day with calf injury
Watson sustained a calf injury in Sunday's loss to the Giants and is considered day-to-day, Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official site reports.
Watson played only 35 of 81 snaps in Sunday night's game after suffering the injury late in the first half. The injury doesn't appear to be overly serious, but Donald Stephenson or Billy Turner are likely to fill in if the 2013 second-round pick is forced to miss any time.
