Conor McDermott: Tries out with Texans
McDermott (undisclosed) had a tryout with Houston on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
McDermott spent all of last season on the Rams' injured reserve list but is presumably now healthy. The veteran tackle has 55 career regular-season games (including 17 starts) under his belt across stints with the Bills, Jets and Patriots.

Rams' Conor McDermott: Opening season on IR
McDermott (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Rams on Wednesday.
McDermott suffered an undisclosed injury in the preseason, which will now force him to miss at least the first four games of the 2024 season. The offensive tackle is eligible to return in Week 5 against the Packers on Oct. 6.

Rams' Conor McDermott: Inks with Rams
McDermott (head) signed a contract with Los Angeles on Tuesday, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
McDermott was cut by the Patriots back in April after having started five games at left tackle for the team in 2023. He now joins a Rams team in serious need of depth, given that starting tackles Alaric Jackson (ankle) and Rob Havenstein (foot) are both currently banged up.

Conor McDermott: Cut by Pats
New England released McDermott (head) on Monday.
McDermott started five games at left tackle for the Patriots in 2023, but after adding Chukwuma Okorafor in free agency, New England has opted to let go of McDermott, who presumably is past the head injury that landed him on IR late last season, given that he was cut without an injury designation. He'll now have to look for another opportunity with a new team.

The Patriots placed McDermott (head) on injured reserve Friday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.coms reports.
The veteran lineman started five of the previous six games for New England, but his season is now over after he played 228 offensive snaps for the Patriots. McDermott has appeared in 55 career contests, making 17 starts.

Patriots' Conor McDermott: Joins Pats' active roster
The Patriots signed McDermott off the practice squad Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
The move corresponds with New England waiving quarterback Will Grier. McDermott joined the Patriots' practice squad Oct. 17 after reaching an injury settlement with the team Sept. 8. With offensive tackles Calvin Anderson (illness) and Tyrone Wheatley (knee) both on IR, McDermott will provide depth behind Mike Onwenu and Trent Brown.
