Buckner recorded six tackles (two solo) including 1.0 sacks during Sunday's 40-6 win versus the Raiders.
Everything was going right for Indianapolis' defense in Week 5, and Buckner was able to help pile on with his first sack of the year. While his sack numbers have been down, his tackle volume has been up, and he's on pace for a career-best year in that category heading into a Week 6 matchup versus the Cardinals.

Indy dominated the Dolphins on defense but Buckner surprisingly didn't make major contributions. He was healthy after dealing with a back injury late in the preseason as he played on 32 of the defense's 47 snaps. It likely won't take him long to get his first sack of the season.

Buckner may not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bengals after suiting up for this past Saturday's exhibition against the Packers. The starting defensive tackle's availability for the Sept. 7 regular-season opener against the Dolphins doesn't appear to be in jeopardy at this point.

Buckner (foot) sat out of practice Thursday, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.
This appears to be a new issue for Buckner, though he did miss five games in 2024 with an ankle injury. The severity of the injury will be worth monitoring, as Buckner is once again expected to serve as Indianapolis' defensive centerpiece. The two-time All-Pro finished last season with 61 tackles (24 solo), including 6.5 sacks, and a pass breakup in 12 games.
