Commanders' Jonathan Jones: Moves to IR
Jones (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Jones sustained a hamstring injury during the Commanders' Week 2 loss to the Packers, and the issue now appears serious enough to land him on IR. The Auburn product has played 41 total snaps (20 defensive and 21 on special teams) so far this season, recording two total tackles. In his stead, Noah Igbinoghene is expected to serve as Washington's top reserve corner.

Commanders' Jonathan Jones: Back to full health
Jones (hamstring) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Giants, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
The 31-year-old cornerback rested during Friday's practice after recording limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. Jones, a nine-year NFL veteran, logged 58 total tackles, six passes defended and two forced fumbles for the Patriots in 2024. He's expected to provide depth to the Commanders' secondary this season, likely playing behind Trey Amos and Marshon Lattimore.

Jones (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Jones is working through a hamstring injury, which has limited his participation in each of the first two practices of the week. He would avoid an injury tag heading into Week 1 against the Giants on Sunday were he to log a full practice Friday. Jones signed a one-year contract with the Commanders in March after spending the first nine years of his NFL career with the Patriots, and the veteran is expected to serve in a rotational role with Trey Amos, Marshon Lattimore and Mike Sainristil at corner.
