Commanders' Jonathan Jones: Playing Sunday
Jones (hamstring) is active for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys.
Jones will make his return to action after missing four weeks while on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. The cornerback will provide the team with some much-needed help in the secondary while Washington faces off with the likes of CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson in Week 7.

The Commanders activated Jones (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday, but he remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Jones sustained a hamstring injury during the Commanders' Week 2 loss to the Packers, which was severe enough for him to necessitate a stint on injured reserve. He was a full participant in practice all week, but his activation from IR indicates that he is on track to play in Week 7. Jones would serve on special teams and in a reserve role at cornerback should he be cleared to play Sunday.

Jones (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Dallas, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Jones has missed the Commanders' last four games due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 2 at Green Bay, but there's a chance he could return in Week 7 after participating fully at practice during the week. Whenever he returns, his primary hurdle to snaps at cornerback may be rookie second-rounder Trey Amos.

Jones' 21-day window to return from injured reserve was activated Wednesday, and he participated in the "jog through" session without limitations. He'll have to log full practices over the next two days to have a realistic chance of being reinstated from IR ahead of Sunday's NFC East clash against the Cowboys.

Commanders' Jonathan Jones: Practice window opens
The Commanders designated Jones (hamstring) to return to practice from IR on Wednesday.
Jones now has a 21-day window to be evaluated at practice without counting against the 53-man roster, within which Washington can activate him from IR at any time. Once fully recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained Week 2 against the Packers, Jones is expected to resume contributing on special teams and in a depth role on defense. If he's able to resume practicing in full immediately, he could return to action as early as Sunday versus the Cowboys.

Jones (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Jones sustained a hamstring injury during the Commanders' Week 2 loss to the Packers, and the issue now appears serious enough to land him on IR. The Auburn product has played 41 total snaps (20 defensive and 21 on special teams) so far this season, recording two total tackles. In his stead, Noah Igbinoghene is expected to serve as Washington's top reserve corner.
