  • Bills' Reid Ferguson: Gets four-year extension

The Bills signed Ferguson to a four-year contract extension Saturday, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Ferguson was set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year began Wednesday, but the 30-year-old will remain in Buffalo to serve as the long snapper for the foreseeable future.

  • Bills' Reid Ferguson: Re-signed by Buffalo

The Bills re-signed Ferguson on Thursday, independent NFL journalist Aaron Wilson reports.

Ferguson did not suit up for the Bills' final preseason game as he dealt with a back injury. With the re-signing, he appears to be fully healthy and ready for the regular season.

  • Bills' Reid Ferguson: Misses preseason finale

Ferguson did not suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Packers due to a back injury, according to the NFL Network game broadcast.

Buffalo's long snapper will have two weeks and a day to recover for the season opener against the Steelers. Ferguson is at almost no risk of losing his spot so long as he's healthy -- in fact, the Bills were forced to use regular players for the long-snapping duties Saturday and have already had at least one rough snap in the first half, leading to a missed extra point.

  • Bills' Reid Ferguson: Long snapper re-ups with Buffalo

Ferguson signed a three-year contract extension through 2024 on Friday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Ferguson has snapped for four seasons with Buffalo already and has handled the position well, plus the team likes his leadership in a locker room that values chemistry. He's never missed a game as a pro. Kicker Tyler Bass showed promise as a rookie in 2020, so we imagine having the reliable Ferguson for the next several years is a plus for the former.
