49ers' Robbie Chosen: Starts for thin WR corps
Chosen brought in all three of his targets for 24 receiving yards in Saturday's 30-23 preseason win over the Chargers.
Chosen started alongside Demarcus Robinson for Saturday's preseason finale with projected starters Ricky Pearsall (rest) and Jauan Jennings (calf) sitting out the exhibition. Several reserve wideouts were also nursing injuries, so the 49ers turned to the 32-year-old Chosen who excelled in the spot start. San Francisco will be awfully thin at the WR position out of the gates with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) expected to miss several weeks, Robinson serving a three-game suspension and Jennings holding out for a new contract. Chosen may find himself not only surviving roster cuts, but actually getting work early in the year as a backup despite being signed just three weeks ago.

49ers' Robbie Chosen: Signs with San Francisco
Chosen and the 49ers agreed on a one-year contract Sunday.
Chosen signed with the 49ers in August of 2024, ultimately being released before the beginning of the regular season. The wide receiver then joined the Dolphins, catching one of four targets for five yards while playing 28 offensive snaps over two contests with the team. Chosen will now get another shot to prove himself with San Francisco ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Robbie Chosen: Off of practice squad
The Dolphins cut Chosen from the practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Chosen was mistake-prone in his appearance during Miami's resounding loss to the Bills last Thursday, and it appears the team isn't interested in providing him further time to acclimate to the offense. The veteran's release could also be an indication that the team expects to get Malik Washington (oblique) back on the field Week 3 versus the Seahawks.
