Nick Vannett: Rejoins Vikings' practice squad
Minnesota re-signed Vannett to the practice squad Thursday.
Vannett was cut by the Vikings on Monday as the team did some roster shuffling, but the veteran tight end now returns to the team as a member of the practice squad. He spent time on Minnesota's active roster earlier this year and suited up for four games, primarily playing on special teams. He could be elevated for a similar role in the future.

Vannett and Tim Jones were signed Thursday to fill the two roster spots opened up by the placement of Blake Cashman (hamstring) and Ty Chandler (knee) on IR. In 111 regular-season games, Vannett has contributed 108 catches for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns, so he's unlikely to factor into the passing game significantly.

Vannett has decided to stick around Minnesota after the team released him Tuesday. The tight end has played in 111 regular-season contests over his nine-year NFL career, and he will provide the Vikings with a rather experienced depth option on their practice unit ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Vannett played 34 snaps on offense during the Titans' Week 9 overtime win over the Patriots and finished with two catches for 33 yards and one touchdown. While he was able to practice in full Wednesday, he was limited in Thursday's session due to a neck issue, which puts his status for Sunday's game against the Chargers in question.
