Higbee (hip) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
This marks Higbee's first on-field work since Week 4 prep, a span in which he sat out last Thursday's loss to the 49ers due to a hip injury. He'll have one more opportunity to get back to all activity Friday, or else risk entering the weekend with a designation ahead of Sunday's game at Baltimore. Colby Parkinson (concussion) also was limited Thursday, leaving the Rams with Davis Allen and Terrance Ferguson as their healthy tight ends at the moment.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Taking part in team drills
Higbee (hip) is participating in team drills Thursday, Adam Grosbard of the LA Daily News reports.
Higbee didn't practice Wednesday after sitting out last Thursday's loss to the 49ers, so his return Thursday marks a significant step in the right direction, though it remains to be seen whether he'll go down as a full or limited participant. Higbee missed last Thursday's loss to the 49ers, opening up more playing time for Davis Allen and Colby Parkinson -- a duo that combined for three targets while each handling route shares below 50 percent. Despite playing through a hip injury this past Sunday versus the Colts, Higbee missed Tuesday's walkthrough and Wednesday's practice due to the same health concern and thus will sit out on a short week between games. Higbee (hip) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
After being limited last Thursday due to a hip injury and following it up with a DNP on Friday, Higbee entered the weekend as questionable. He was active Sunday against the Colts and paced Rams tight ends with a 55 percent snap share, ahead of Davis Allen's 29 percent and Colby Parkinson's 28 percent. Overall, Higbee gathered in two of five targets for 25 yards, with Parkinson (2-17-0 on two targets) and Allen (1-0-0 on one target) not far behind him in terms of production. With another DNP under his belt to begin Week 5 prep, Higbee's status is up in the air ahead of Thursday's game versus the 49ers.

Higbee (hip) was once again listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated injury report following the Rams' walkthrough, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Higbee has now opened the week with back-to-back days in which he was considered unavailable. Higbee (hip) secured two of five targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 27-20 win against the Colts.
The hip injury Higbee suffered Thursday didn't seem to bother the Rams' top tight end, as the veteran enjoyed a season high in targets while seeing his typical usage among the Rams triumvirate of tight ends. Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen combined for just three catches for 17 yards on their three targets, leaving Higbee as the top option at the position for the Rams. That role still doesn't translate to much from a fantasy perspective, although a 49ers defense that allowed Brenton Strange and former Ram Hunter Long to combine for a solid 9-68-1 line is next up for the Rams on a short week.

Rams' Tyler Higbee: Garners active status Sunday
Higbee (hip) is active for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Colts, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
The veteran tight end had put in a full session Wednesday before apparently suffering a hip injury in Thursday's practice and then missing Friday's session, an absence head coach Sean McVay termed a veteran rest day. Higbee indeed will be in uniform Sunday and attempt to get more mileage out of his No. 1 tight end role, which thus far this season has only netted a 4-37-0 line on six targets over three games.
