Byard registered six tackles (five solo) during the Bears' 24-20 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Byard was working through back and ankle injuries during Week 10 prep, but those issues didn't appear to bother him Sunday as he was able to play every single defensive snap. The veteran safety has recorded at least five stops in seven of nine regular-season games and is up to 48 tackles (36 solo) and five pass defenses (four interceptions) on the year.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Good to go
Byard (back/ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants.
The starting free safety was able to log a limited practice Thursday and a full practice Friday in preparation for Sunday's contest. Byard logged 67 defensive snaps in Week 9 against the Bengals, contributing five solo tackles to the Bears' victory. The 32-year-old's stint on the injury report was short, popping up Wednesday and being cleared Friday as he looks to once again be an every-down contributor for the Bears defense.

Bears' Kevin Byard: Upgrades to limited practice
Byard (back/ankle) was limited in practice Thursday.
Byard sat out Wednesday's practice entirely, so it's encouraging to see the starting safety now taking limited reps Thursday. If Byard can participate fully on Friday, he'll have a good chance of avoiding an injury designation entirely for Sunday's matchup against the Giants. He's been an every-down contributor on defense through eight regular-season appearances.

Byard (back) was a non-participant at practice Wednesday.
Byard appears to be dealing with an apparent back injury, which he may have suffered in the team's Week 9 win over the Bengals, a game in which he compiled five solo tackles. The safety will have two more chances to return to practice prior to Sunday's matchup with the Giants.
