Colts' Ameer Abdullah: Three touches in blowout win
Abdullah had two carries for five yards and one reception for three yards on his lone target in Sunday's 38-14 win over Tennessee.
Tyler Goodson returned after missing three games due to a groin injury but Abdullah saw slightly more work, playing 10 snaps compared to four for Goodson, while DJ Giddens was a healthy inactive. Both active backups had only two carries, however, and none of the Colts' backfield depth options will get enough touches for viable fantasy value as long as Jonathan Taylor dominates the workload even in blowouts, as Sunday's win was essentially wrapped up before the fourth quarter.

Colts' Ameer Abdullah: Three touches against Chargers
Abdullah rushed twice for 19 yards and caught his lone target for eight yards in Sunday's 38-24 win over the Chargers.
Abdullah played just five of the Colts' 60 offensive snaps Sunday behind starter Jonathan Taylor (52) and ahead of rookie DJ Giddens (3). The veteran running back offers little fantasy value outside of an injury to Taylor, yet it's unclear if Abdullah's role would drastically increase as a 32-year-old in one of the league's most explosive offenses. With that said, Abdullah remains far off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Titans.

Colts' Ameer Abdullah: Joins active roster
The Colts signed Adbullah from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Tyler Goodson (groin) has been ruled out, leaving the Colts in need of running back depth behind Jonathan Taylor and DJ Giddens. Abdullah was active in Weeks 5 and 6, logging a total of three carries for 13 yards and a touchdown, and he'll now have a permanent spot on the roster.

Adbullah reverted to Indianapolis' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Adullah was elevated for the second straight week for this past Sunday's win over Arizona and logged three snaps on offense, rushing once for seven yards and catching his lone target for nine yards. He also played 10 snaps on special teams. Though Abdullah is back on the Colts' practice squad for now, he could be elevated again in Week 7 versus the Chargers if Tyler Goodson (groin) remains sidelined.

The Colts elevated Abdullah from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Cardinals.
Abdullah will serve as the team's No. 3 running back for the second straight week as Tyler Goodson remains sidelined due to a groin injury. Abdullah carried the ball two times for six yards and a touchdown in the Week 5 win over the Raiders while playing on both offense and special teams. With Tyler Goodson (groin) still banged up, it's possible that Abdullah will be elevated to the active roster again ahead of the Colts' Week 6 matchup with the Cardinals.

The Colts have elevated Abdullah from their practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
With fellow RB Tyler Goodson (groin) having been ruled out for the contest, Abdullah will provide depth and experience Sunday to an Indianapolis backfield that's led by Jonathan Taylor and also includes DJ Giddens. Ameer Abdullah: Gets opportunity with Indy
The Colts signed Abdullah to the practice squad Monday.
Abdullah reached an injury settlement with the 49ers in mid-August after reverting to the team's IR due to a rib injury. He appears to have fully recovered from the injury and will head to Indianapolis, where he'll be available for an elevation to the active roster should the Colts require backfield depth on game day. Abdullah appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Raiders in 2024 and posted 66 carries for 311 yards and two touchdowns while adding 40 catches (on 47 targets) for 261 yards and three scores. Khalil Herbert was cut from the Colts' practice squad in a corresponding move.

Ameer Abdullah: Cut from injured reserve
The 49ers released Abdullah (ribs) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Abdullah was injured during the 49ers' preseason opener back on Aug. 9 and was placed on IR two days later. He's now free to look for work elsewhere.

The 49ers placed Abdullah (ribs) on injured reserve Monday.
Abdullah joined the 49ers in late July due to multiple injuries to the team's backfield, but the 2015 second-rounder suffered a rib injury of his own during San Francisco's 30-9 preseason loss to Denver on Saturday. By being placed on IR, Abdullah will be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the 49ers. Abdullah was forced out of Saturday's 30-9 preseason loss to the Broncos due to a rib injury.
Abdullah was initially listed as questionable to return but never retook the field, though given that Saturday's affair was only a preseason clash, the 49ers may have simply taken a cautious approach. The 32-year-old veteran inked with San Francisco in late July, and his next opportunity to take the field this preseason will come Saturday, Aug. 16 versus the Raiders.

49ers' Ameer Abdullah: Signs with San Francisco
The 49ers signed Abdullah to a one-year contract Thursday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Abdullah had a tryout with the Niners on Wednesday and things evidently went well for the veteran running back. He turned 32 years old last month and appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Raiders last season, logging a 66-311-2 rushing line in addition to a 40-261-3 receiving tally on 47 targets. Abdullah will look to win a job behind Christian McCaffrey, Isaac Guerendo and rookie Jordan James this summer.

Abdullah has seemingly recovered from the foot injury he suffered last December and is now trying to catch on with a new team.
