Bills' Jordan Poyer: Notches 15 stops vs. Tampa Bay
Poyer recorded 15 total tackles (seven solo) and one pass defensed in Sunday's 44-32 win over the Buccaneers.
The veteran safety from Oregon State has now played at least 80 percent of the Bills' defensive snaps in back-to-back games, recording 23 total tackles during that span. Poyer led Buffalo's defense in stops during the Week 11 win, bringing his season total to 34 in just five appearances. Expect the 34-year-old to remain one of the Bills' top safeties in the Week 12 matchup against the Texans.

Bills' Jordan Poyer: Leading tackler in loss
Poyer recorded eight tackles (three solo) in Buffalo's loss to Miami on Sunday.
Poyer's eight tackles not only led the team but also marked a new season-high total for the 34-year-old. He has gotten off to a hot start since making his debut in Week 6, racking up 19 tackles (six solo) across just four games played.

Bills' Jordan Poyer: Signed to active roster
The Bills signed Poyer off the practice squad Tuesday.
Poyer started at safety in Week 8 against the Panthers and logged five tackles (one solo) on 74 percent of the defensive snaps. With Taylor Rapp (knee) and Damar Hamlin (pectoral) on injured reserve, Poyer seems like a good bet to remain in the starting lineup.

Bills' Jordan Poyer: Returns to practice squad
Poyer reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per NFL's official transaction log.
Poyer was elevated to the active roster for the second straight game ahead of Sunday's 40-9 win over Carolina, recording five total tackles (one solo) while playing 45 of the team's 54 defensive snaps and one snap on special teams. The 34-year-old operated as the team's starting strong safety versus the Panthers due to the placement of Taylor Rapp (knee) on injured reserve, and Poyer will therefore almost assuredly be elevated again in Week 9 versus the Chiefs.

Bills' Jordan Poyer: Starting Week 8
Poyer, who was elevated from the Bills' practice squad to the active roster Saturday, is expected to start at safety against the Panthers on Sunday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
The 13th-year veteran will move into a starting role at safety alongside Cole Bishop in Week 8 after Taylor Rapp (knee) was placed on injured reserve Friday. Poyer joined the Bills' practice squad in late August and made his first appearance in Week 6 against the Falcons, when he logged one tackle while playing 22 snaps (18 on defense, four on special teams). He started in 16 regular-season games during the 2024 campaign with the Dolphins and finished with 98 tackles (51 solo) and three pass defenses.

Jordan Poyer: Back with Buffalo as expected
The Bills signed Poyer to the practice squad Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Bills removed Poyer from the practice squad Wednesday in a procedural move to make room for wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee). Poyer is back with Buffalo as expected, and the veteran safety would be a top candidate to be elevated to the active roster if the Bills require depth in the secondary on game day.

Jordan Poyer: Moved off PS in procedural move
The Bills cut Poyer from the practice squad Wednesday to make room for wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee), Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
The move is simply procedural to make room on the practice squad for Davis, so Poyer is expected to be back on the Bills' practice squad Thursday. The 34-year-old safety wasn't able to catch on with a team during the offseason despite starting in 16 regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024, but Poyer would be a candidate to be elevated to the Bills' active roster if a member of the team's secondary is sidelined.

Jordan Poyer: Headed for Buffalo's practice squad
Poyer is expected to join Buffalo's practice squad, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Poyer didn't garner any interest in free agency after a 2024 campaign with Miami during which he started 16 games and posted 98 tackles but had just three passes defensed, no interceptions and no sacks. The 34-year-old safety's best football is behind him, but Buffalo's safety play was shaky in the preseason, so perhaps Poyer will get a chance at some point in 2025 to add to his career total of 107 regular-season appearances with the Bills.
