Zac Stacy: Tied for AAF rushing lead
Stacy has taken 31 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown through two games with the Memphis Express in the Alliance of American Football.
Stacy announced his retirement from the NFL in February 2017 after he was unable to make it back from an ankle fracture he'd suffered in November 2015. Finally back to full strength, the 27-year-old presumably hopes to use the AAF as a springboard back to the NFL, where he once ran for 973 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie fifth-round pick with the Rams in 2013. It looks like Stacy could earn a spot on a preseason roster if he emerges from the AAF campaign relatively unscathed.

Zac Stacy: Announces retirement
Stacy has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Stacy made waves during his rookie season with the Rams, when he totaled over 1,000 yards and scored eight times in 14 appearances. While that success saw his fantasy stock peak ahead of the 2014 campaign, Stacy responded with just 293 rushing yards and one touchdown as a sophomore. After that disappointment, the Rams traded him to the Jets, for whom Stacy only played eight games before fracturing his ankle. That injury prevented Stacy from suiting up again, and has led the former fifth-rounder to now call time on his short-lived career.

Zac Stacy: Waived by Jets
The Jets have waived Stacy (ankle), after he failed his physical with the team, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Rapoport notes that the Jets needed the roster spot at this stage, but could bring Stacy back once he is fully recovered from a fractured ankle that required offseason surgery. The team plans to sign Bernard Pierce for backfield depth with Khiry Robinson (leg) still recovering from injury.

Jets' Zac Stacy: Should return for training camp
Stacy (ankle) is not expected to participate in spring practices but should be ready for training camp. NJ.com reports.
Stacy broke his ankle in mid-November and will have to battle Khiry Robinson for the No. 3 running back spot in training camp, with Matt Forte and Bilal Powell comfortably in the Top 2 spots on the depth chart. Given his situation even when healthy, it's tough to see Stacy making a meaningful fantasy contribution this season if Forte and Powell stay healthy.

Jets' Zac Stacy: Lands on IR
Stacy was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports.
This move was considered a formality as Stacy was expected to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle during last Thursday's game against the Bills. Bilal Powell and Stevan Ridley will likely see a few extra opportunities out of the backfield with Stacy now out, but unless starting running back Chris Ivory goes down with an injury, neither should be expected to be a reliable fantasy contributor.

Jets' Zac Stacy: Diagnosed with fractured ankle
Stacy suffered a fractured ankle during Thursday's loss to the Bills, Seth Walder of the NY Daily News reports.
Stacy will presumably miss the rest of the season, but his absence shouldn't have much impact on the Jets' running back usage unless Bilal Powell (ankle) still isn't ready for Week 11. The Jets used Chris Ivory on passing downs after Stacy left Thursday's game, and while the veteran bruiser is a perfectly capable pass-catcher, he's already getting all the work he can handle on the ground. If Powell isn't ready for Week 11, the Jets will likely sign another running back, preferably one with solid blocking and receiving skills.

Jets' Zac Stacy: Ruled out for rest of night
Stacy was ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Bills due to an ankle injury, the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta reports.
Stacy had to be carted off the field after his leg was pinned underneath his body at the end of the first half. It had the look of a serious injury, and with Bilal Powell (ankle) still sidelined, the Jets are using Chris Ivory on passing downs, with Stevan Ridley serving as the top backup.
