Dolphins' Justin Houston: Catches on with Miami
Houston (hamstring) agreed to a contract with the Dolphins on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
The 34-year-old edge rusher previously appeared in seven games with Carolina this season, tallying a half-sack and nine tackles before he was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring strain in early November and then getting granted his release Dec. 19. Now presumably back to full health, Houston could be thrust into a significant role in Miami's wild-card matchup with the Chiefs on Saturday with the Dolphins' depth on the edge having been decimated in recent weeks. With the team's top three pass rushers -- Jaelan Phillips (Achilles), Bradley Chubb (knee) and Andrew Van Ginkel (foot) -- all lost for the season, look for Miami to rely heavily on Houston, and fellow veteran outside linebackers Melvin Ingram and Emmanuel Ogbah to generate pressure on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Justin Houston: Exits upon request
Houston (hamstring) was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Houston requested the release, according to Darrin Gant of the team's official site. The 34-year-old is now hoping to find himself on a contenders' roster before the 2023 campaign comes to an end after the veteran linebacker joined Carolina as a free agent this offseason to play for his former coach, Frank Reich, who was fired earlier this season. Houston's time with the Panthers will end with seven games played, nine tackles and 0.5 sacks.

Panthers' Justin Houston: Heads to IR
Houston (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
The veteran linebacker suffered a hamstring injury during the Panthers' Week 8 win over the Texans, and he was unable to practice all throughout the week. Houston will be forced to miss Carolina's next four games, with his earliest possible return coming in Week 13. Amare Barno is expected to see an increased workload on the Panthers' defense until Houston returns to the field.

Panthers' Justin Houston: Sitting against Indy
Houston (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Houston was unable to practice in any capacity throughout the week after hurting his hamstring in the Week 8 win over the Texans. The veteran linebacker's next chance to play will come Thursday against the Bears, though the short turnaround will make it challenging for Houston to recover from his soft-tissue injury in time to suit up for Week 10.

Panthers' Justin Houston: Exits game with hamstring injury
Houston (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Houston had one tackle for the game before exiting the field. Amare Barno, DJ Johnson and Eku Leota are candidates for increased defensive snaps in Houston's absence.

Panthers' Justin Houston: Good to go Sunday
Houston (calf) has been deemed active ahead of Sunday's game against Seattle.
Houston dealt with a calf injury during the leadup to Sunday's Week 3 contest for Carolina. However, this won't keep him from suiting up for the third game in a row to begin the season. Houston totaled four tackles and 0.5 sacks over the first two games of the season.
