Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Could be ready for Week 1
Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Friday that he's "confident" that Taylor (knee) will be available for the Jets' regular-season opener against the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 7, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Taylor is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery that has kept him sidelined since early August. There's optimism that he'll be available for Week 1 to serve as the Jets' backup quarterback behind starter Justin Fields. If Taylor isn't cleared to suit up, then the QB2 role would fall to either Adrian Martinez or Brady Cook unless the Jets opt to sign another signal-caller ahead of the regular-season opener.

Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Out for remainder of preseason
Taylor will not suit up this preseason while completing his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Coach Aaron Glenn said Tuesday the Jets are hoping Taylor will be available for Week 1, per Brian Costello of the New York Post, but iit will fall to Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook to handle quarterback reps behind starter Justin Fields for the remainder of the preseason. New York figures to add another signal-caller to the roster as temporary depth.

Jets' Tyrod Taylor: Sidelined by knee injury Monday
Taylor (knee) didn't practice Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Taylor had previously worked as the backup to Justin Fields, who is viewed as the team's clear starter after signing a two-year contract with the Jets in the offseason. If Taylor isn't available for Saturday's preseason opener against the Packers, Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook would be in line for additional opportunities.
