Donald Penn: Announces retirement
Penn announced his retirement on Monday.
Penn had a lengthy NFL career, as he played in 194 games from 2006 to 2019. He spent five of those seasons with the Raiders and inked a one-day deal so he could retire with the team. In addition, he also suited up for the Vikings, Buccaneers and Washington Football Team.

The veteran offensive tackle suffered the hamstring injury during last Sunday's loss to the Patriots, but the fact he was able to practice fully Friday should put him on track to play Week 6. Geron Christian would likely fill in at left tackle should Penn suffer a setback.

Redskins' Donald Penn: Inks one-year deal
Penn will sign a one-year contract with the Redskins on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The veteran will add some insurance to the offensive line, as star Trent Williams continues to sit out training camp due to a fractured relationship with the franchise. Penn has had a solid career in the NFL to this point that is highlighted by three Pro Bowl appearances. As long as he gets up to speed, the 36-year-old should have a chance to compete for the starting left tackle role sans Williams.

Donald Penn: Parts ways with Raiders
The Raiders and Penn have opted to go their separate ways in 2019, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The Raiders will save $5.475 million against the cap by letting Penn walk. The veteran tackle started just four games last season before a groin injury ended his campaign, but Penn intends to play left tackle again in 2019 and is now on the open market.

Raiders' Donald Penn: Won't return in 2018
Penn (groin) will not return this season, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
It had been speculated that Penn wouldn't play again this season. With confirmation coming Wednesday, the veteran offensive lineman will have to wait until 2019 to get back on the gridiron. He should have plenty of time to get back to 100 percent before the start of offseason activities.

Raiders' Donald Penn: Unlikely to return from IR
Coach Jon Gruden said Thursday that he doesn't anticipate Penn (leg) playing again this season, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Gruden further noted that a decision on whether to bring Penn back from injured reserve won't be made for at least a couple days. With the Raiders long eliminated from playoff contention, it appears likely that the team will decide not to risk any further injury to the right tackle.

Raiders' Donald Penn: Returns to practice with questions
Penn (leg) returned to practice Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Raiders will have three weeks to decide whether to activate Penn from injured reserve or keep him sidelined. From the looks of it, the prospects of a return to game action seem doubtful. Coach Gruden said he doesn't "know that we'll see him this year."

Raiders' Donald Penn: Candidate for activation
Coach Jon Gruden said there's a chance Penn (leg) could be activated off injured reserve, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Though Gruden failed to commit to activating Penn in the near future, he seemed optimistic that the right tackle will be able to help the team this season. Penn was placed on IR on Oct. 3 after suffering a leg injury against the Browns. Brandon Parker has been filling in while Penn has been sidelined.
