Acting head coach Joe Vitt said he sees G Ben Grubbs as a better communicator on the line of scrimmage than All-Pro G Carl Nicks, who signed a lucrative contract with the Bucs in the offseason. Vitt said he's been pleased with how active Grubbs has been in every phase of the offseason workouts with the Saints.
