Seventh-round draft pick LB Travis Lewis proved to be a versatile player at Detroit’s rookie mini-camp. He was one of the few rookie LBs able to take reps at MLB and OLB. Coach Jim Schwartz said that versatility will serve Lewis well. “We value multi-dimensional linebackers,” Schwartz said. “It was important for (Lewis) to be able to prove that he could (play MLB and OLB).You’ve got to be able to play inside and outside (in Detroit’s defense).”
