Gronkowski spikes watermelon to beat Jared Allen in Madden cover contest
The Madden cover contest is underway and Rob Gronkowski is making sure that people get out and vote for him, primarily by filming viral videos of him doing crazy things. Like smashing a watermelon that's supposed to be Jared Allen.

When Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski manned the drive-thru window at a local Dunkin Donuts, I mentioned that anything he does that's bizarre or off-the-wall is an automatic post here. So it shouldn't surprise you that I'm eagerly tossing up a video of Gronkowski promoting himself in the current Madden cover contest that EA Sports is running.
The contest is, like last year, a bracketed fan vote to pick one winner. Peyton Hillis won last year and Gronkowski -- along with Cam Newton -- is one of the favorites for 2012.
Gronk's currently squaring off against Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and to show how he plans to crush Allen, he pretended a watermelon was Allen, took that watermelon out into an alley and and Gronk-spiked it.
