Lakers' Luka Doncic: Practicing fully at training camp
Head coach JJ Redick confirmed Thursday that Doncic (rest) was a full participant in practices last week, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.
Doncic is getting his reps in during scrimmages at training camp, but it remains possible that he'll be held out of preseason games after his EuroBasket run this past summer. The superstar guard's status remains murky for Sunday's exhibition contest against the Warriors, but Doncic's availability for Opening Night isn't in doubt.

Doncic (rest) completed an individual workout Tuesday, Mark Medina of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Doncic's status remains uncertain for Sunday's preseason game against the Warriors. It's possible the superstar guard won't see much exhibition action after participating in EuroBasket play this past summer. Gabe Vincent would be an option to soak up extra minutes if Doncic is out Sunday.

Lakers' Luka Doncic: Won't play this weekend
Doncic (rest) won't play in both of the Lakers' first two preseason games against the Suns on Friday and versus the Warriors on Sunday, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
The Lakers appear to be simply managing Doncic's reps following his EuroBasket run with Slovenia this past summer. With the superstar guard out of action this weekend, Gabe Vincent and Nick Smith should take on a more sizable role in the Los Angeles backcourt. Doncic's next chance to see preseason action comes Oct. 12 against Golden State.

Lakers' Luka Doncic: Ready for fresh start
Doncic is coming off an offseason of transformation and said the upcoming regular season "feels like a start for me" as he'll play his first full season with the Lakers, Dan Woike of The Athletic reports.
Doncic's life and career were turned upside down during the 2024-25 campaign after he was shockingly traded to the Lakers by the Mavericks. However, the superstar guard has dedicated himself to turning the page with his new team by getting in shape to be the best player he can be heading into his eighth NBA season.

Lakers' Luka Doncic: Will continue to play in EuroBasket
Doncic sustained a right knee contusion in Slovenia's 100-88 exhibition game loss to Latvia on Saturday, but he'll return to practice Monday and compete in the start of EuroBasket play, Kurt Helin of NBC Sports reports.
Doncic posted 26 points (7-15 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five assists, four rebounds, two steals and one block across 20 minutes before colliding with a teammate and exiting to the locker room. However, the superstar has been cleared to return to practice and is expected to be ready by the start of EuroBasket against Poland on Aug. 28. It's unclear if the Slovenian national team will take a cautious approach with the 26-year-old point guard before then, though his next chance to play in an exhibition game will come Tuesday against Great Britain.

Lakers' Luka Doncic: Suffers knee injury
Doncic suffered a right knee contusion during Slovenia's game against Latvia on Saturday, NBA reporter Marc Stein reports.
After dropping 26 points in the first half, Doncic went down with the knee injury in a collision with a teammate. Initially, the injury looked like it could've been severe, but it is not believed to be serious. According to Dan Woike of The Athletic, Doncic will continue to compete in the EuroBasket despite the injury.

Lakers' Luka Doncic: Inks contract extension with LAL
The Lakers signed Doncic to a three-year contract extension Saturday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Doncic was traded to Los Angeles on Feb. 2 in a shocking blockbuster deal that resulted in Anthony Davis being sent to the Mavericks. The next step for the storied Lakers franchise was to secure his long-term future, and that's precisely what the team has done, which sets up the post-LeBron James era. In 25 appearances with his new squad during the 2024-25 campaign, Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc.
