Heat's Davion Mitchell: Intends to sign with Miami
Mitchell intends to sign a two-year, $24 million contract with the Heat, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Mitchell will return to the Heat after spending the latter half of the 2024-25 campaign in Miami. The 26-year-old guard appeared in 30 regular-season games for the club after being acquired via trade from Toronto, averaging 10.3 points, 5.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 31.6 minutes per game during that span. He also shot 50.4 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from three-point range.

Heat's Davion Mitchell: Extended a qualifying offer
The Heat extended a qualifying offer to Mitchell on Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
This was essentially a formality for Miami. By extending this qualifying offer, Mitchell becomes a restricted free agent, allowing the Heat to match any offers from outside clubs. Heat's Davion Mitchell: Quiet in Game 4 loss
Mitchell supplied eight points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and five assists over 35 minutes during Monday's 138-83 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Although he had a tough night Monday, Mitchell was a bright spot for the Heat during this series with 15.0 points, 6.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 three-pointers on 61.0 percent shooting. His career could take off with his new team, as he immediately stepped it up after his mid-season trade from Toronto to Miami. Mitchell racked up 18 points (7-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), one rebound, six assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 121-112 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Mitchell entered the starting five in Game 2 but played just two more minutes and scored the same number of points (18) as he did in Game 1 while coming off the bench. Mitchell has had a phenomenal start to the series, averaging 18.0 points, 7.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 35.0 minutes across his first two outings while shooting 71.4 percent from the field and 57.1 percent from three.

Mitchell finished Friday's 123-114 overtime win over the Hawks in the Play-In Tournament with 16 points (5-13 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five assists and three rebounds over 40 minutes.
Despite coming off the bench, Mitchell was one of four Heat players to play at least 40 minutes in Friday's elimination game. He played a decisive role in Miami's win, including in overtime when he scored nine points while making key plays on both ends of the floor. Mitchell has scored in double digits in seven of his last eight outings (including the Heat's two Play-In Tournament games), and over that span he has averaged 13.3 points, 6.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 32.8 minutes per contest.
