  • Hawks' Devin Carter: Heading to Atlanta

The Kings are trading Carter and a future second-round pick to the Hawks on Monday, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

Carter figures to serve as backcourt depth for Atlanta. Entering his third season in the league and hoping for a fresh start, the 2024 first-rounder averaged a career-high 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 18.4 minutes per contest across 38 regular-season appearances in 2025-26.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Struggles with shot in loss

Carter chipped in eight points (3-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-5 FT), six rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals over 34 minutes during Sunday's 122-110 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Carter couldn't find his rhythm from the field, but he was relatively close to a triple-double. Carter was out of the rotation for most of the season, but he eventually carved out a role once the Kings began their youth movement. Across 38 total appearances, he averaged 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 18.4 minutes per contest.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Career-best night in win

Carter had 29 points (11-18 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 1-4 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 35 minutes during Friday's 124-118 win over the Warriors.

The 29 points were a career high for Carter as he led the Kings in scoring on the night. The second-year guard has started nine straight games in place of Russell Westbrook (toe), averaging 14.7 points, 4.9 boards, 3.7 assists, 2.0 threes and 1.0 steals in 28.1 minutes during that stretch.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Drops team-high 21 in Sunday's loss

Carter finished with 21 points (8-14 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-9 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes during Sunday's 138-109 loss to the Clippers.

The 21 points led Sacramento on the night. Carter is seeing a big role to close out the season, starting seven straight games and averaging 13.9 points, 4.6 boards, 3.4 assists, 1.7 threes and 0.9 steals in 28.1 minutes. The Kings have little reason to decrease the second-year guard's usage given their place in the standings and the injury-depleted nature of their roster.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Plays well in start

Carter contributed 20 points (6-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 116-99 loss to the Nets.

With Russell Westbrook (toe) without a timetable and the Kings sitting Malik Monk (shoulder) and DeMar DeRozan (hamstring) Sunday, Carter was able to start and soak up a ton of usage. Across six starts this season, Carter has fared well with 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 three-pointers on 42.0 percent shooting.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Stuffs stat sheet

Carter accumulated 14 points (5-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 loss to the Magic.

Carter was one of six Sacramento players who scored in double digits in this loss, and while he didn't fill the stat sheet, he found a way to contribute in four of the five major categories. Carter has scored at least 14 points in each of his last four appearances.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Promoted to starting lineup

Carter is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Hornets, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.

Russell Westbrook (foot) and Killian Hayes (foot) are both sidelined, leaving the Kings with Carter to fill the void in the first five. It'll be the third start of the year for Carter, who has averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals in 31.1 minutes per game as a member of the first unit so far.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Handles sizable role in return

Carter (calf) posted 16 points (5-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-8 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 27 minutes during Sunday's 126-122 victory over the Nets.

After a five-game absence due to a bruised right calf, Carter returned to action and wound up being thrust into a significant role because of an injury to Killian Hayes (toe). With Russell Westbrook (foot) also banged up, Carter could find himself in a position for extra ball-handling duties going forward. Across his past six outings, Carter has averaged 11.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 18.7 minutes per game.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Ruled out Wednesday

Carter is out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets with right calf soreness.

After dropping a career-high 24 points during Tuesday's 114-109 win over the Pacers, Carter is sitting out the second half of Sacramento's back-to-back. Killian Hayes could be thrust into a featured role at point guard Wednesday, and Nique Clifford should also see more ballhandling chances.

  • Kings' Devin Carter: Tallies career-high 24 points

Carter produced 24 points (9-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 114-109 win over the Pacers.

After playing no minutes in the first half, Carter looked like he would be left out of head coach Doug Christie's rotation for the night, but an opportunity opened up after fellow guard Malik Monk injured his ankle in the second quarter and was unable to return. Carter proceeded to catch fire upon checking into the game with just over four minutes left in the third quarter. He ended up setting a new career-high mark in scoring, dropping 22 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter. Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento pointed out that Carter appeared to be walking with a limp after the victory, so it'll be worth keeping an eye on his status leading up to the second half a back-to-back Wednesday against Charlotte. With Monk in jeopardy of missing that contest, Carter could take on a more pronounced role if available Wednesday.
