  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Gets starting nod

Kuminga will start Sunday's preseason game against the Lakers, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Kuminga is getting a fill-in start with Stephen Curry (undisclosed), Moses Moody (calf), Jimmy Butler (personal) and Al Horford (rest) all sidelined Sunday. After a drama-filled offseason, Kuminga is off to a slow start to the preseason with 4.0 points in 16.6 minutes per game across two outings.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Plays 15 minutes Sunday

Kuminga logged five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one block in 15 minutes of Sunday's 111-103 preseason win over the Lakers. Kuminga made his first appearance since securing a two-year, $48.5 million contract with the Warriors. He had a drama-filled offseason, but both sides are likely eager to put this all behind them. The Warriors are likely to experiment with some different lineups in the preseason, but it was Kuminga who came off the bench behind Moses Moody in this one.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Won't attend media day

Kuminga will not attend the team's media day on Monday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Kuminga recently missed Jimmy Butler's team minicamp in San Diego, and he will now forego the team's media day amid contract negotiations. Kuminga's one-year $8 million qualifying offer expires Wednesday, so his future with the team should be clearer in the coming days. With the signings of Al Horford, Gary Payton, De'Anthony Melton and Will Richard, the Warriors have 13 committed roster players, with plans for Kuminga to be the 14th.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Won't attend team mini camp

Kuminga didn't attend Jimmy Butler's team mini camp in San Diego due to ongoing contract negotiations, Shams reports. Kuminga's standoff with the Golden State brass continues, as the two sides still seem far apart on a new deal, with the start of the 2025-26 campaign rapidly approaching. The up-and-comer is adamant about getting a player option in his new deal, so it remains to be seen whether a new deal will be finalized before the deadline on Oct. 1 and what his future holds with the team moving forward.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Receives qualifying offer

The Warriors extended a $7.9 million qualifying offer to Kuminga on Saturday, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports. The move will make Kuminga a restricted free agent. Per Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Kuminga is seeking a deal that pays him over $30 million per year, but the Warriors have the flexibility to match any offer made to the 2021 first-rounder. Kuminga had a rocky regular season and got inconsistent playing time, but he had a more prominent role during the Warriors' first-round playoff series loss against the Timberwolves. He averaged 24.3 points on 55.4 percent shooting, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals over 31.0 minutes over the final four games of that series.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Notches 26 points in loss

Kuminga supplied 26 points (11-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds and two steals over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 121-110 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Kuminga certainly had a rollercoaster of a season considering he was in and out of coach Steve Kerr's rotation, but he went out with a bang. In his last four playoff appearances, Kuminga averaged 24.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.8 three-pointers in 31.0 minutes per game. Kuminga will now enter restricted free agency with his future very much uncertain based on Kerr's usage of the forward at times.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Scores team-high 23 points

Kuminga logged 23 points (6-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 11-12 FT), one assist and one steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Kuminga continues to play well for the short-handed Warriors, leading the team with 23 points. While his recent play has been encouraging, the same cannot be said for the team as a whole. Golden State now trails 3-1 with the series shifting back to Minnesota for Game 5. If Stephen Curry (hamstring) is unavailable once again, Kuminga will likely assume a larger role.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Explodes for 30 points in Game 3

Kuminga finished with 30 points (11-18 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 36 minutes during Saturday's 102-97 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals. The Warriors needed Kuminga to provide an offensive boost in this game, and he delivered a breakout performance while easily leading Golden State's second unit in scoring. Kuminga is expected to continue seeing an uptick in minutes for as long as Stephen Curry (hamstring) remains sidelined, affording him a optimistic short-term fantasy outlook in all formats.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Provides spark off bench

Kuminga recorded 18 points (8-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes during Thursday's 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. With Stephen Curry (hamstring) out, Kuminga led Golden State in scoring despite coming off the bench in Game 2. With Curry set to miss a few more games due to injury, Kuminga and the Warriors' other role players will likely be relied upon to continue shouldering an increased offensive load.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Fails to score in return

Kuminga provided zero points (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one steal across seven minutes during Sunday's 103-89 victory over the Rockets in Game 7 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Kuminga returned to the lineup for Game 7, although the stat sheet tells a different story. It's been a tale of woe for Kuminga thus far during the playoffs, dealing with an illness while also seemingly falling out of favor with the coaching staff. Based on how little we saw from him during the first round, it's hard to think he will play any sort of meaningful role against the Timberwolves in the upcoming semifinal-round clash.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Return to rotation possible

Kuminga's return to the Warriors' rotation is possible for Sunday's game, according to head coach Steve Kerr, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Kuminga has not played in four of the last six games in the first round of the NBA playoffs, as he has been dealing with an illness and seems to have fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. However, with the season on the line heading into Game 7, there's a chance he gets some time on the floor. In the two games the 22-year-old has played in this series, he averaged 9.0 points. 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, shooting 36.8 percent from the field.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Off injury report for Friday

Kuminga (illness) is off the injury report for Friday's Game 6 against the Rockets. Kuminga is set to return to action after being a late scratch in Wednesday's Game 5 loss due to an illness. The 22-year-old forward didn't play in Game 4 due to Jimmy Butler (pelvis) returning from a one-game absence, meaning Kuminga isn't guaranteed significant playing time in Game 6.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Starting sans Butler

Kuminga is in the Warriors' starting lineup against the Rockets in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Kuminga didn't play in Game 1, but he came in off the bench in Game 2 after Jimmy Butler went down with a pelvic contusion in the first quarter. With Butler ruled out for Game 3, Kuminga will enter the Warriors' starting lineup for the first time since Dec. 15. Kuminga finished the 2024-25 regular season averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 steals over 24.3 minutes per game.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Cleared to play Thursday

Kuminga (pelvis) is available for Thursday's game against the Lakers, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Kuminga will return to action following a one-game absence due to the right pelvic contusion that he sustained during Sunday's win over the Spurs. Entering Sunday's contest, the 22-year-old forward had averaged 14.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 steals across 23.8 minutes per contest in his last five games.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Won't return Sunday

Kuminga won't return during Sunday's game against the Spurs due to right ankle soreness. The 22-year-old forward exited to the locker room after a hard fall with 6:59 remaining in the second quarter, and he'll likely undergo further testing ahead of Tuesday's game against Memphis. He'll finish Sunday's matchup with four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT) and one rebound across seven minutes. Gui Santos will likely receive an uptick in playing time the rest of the way due to Kuminga being sidelined.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Exits to locker room Sunday

Kuminga (undisclosed) exited to the locker room with 6:59 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Spurs, Sam Gordon of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Kuminga walked back to the locker room gingerly following a hard fall on a drive to the basket. The 22-year-old appeared to reach for his lower back after the fall, and if he's unable to return Sunday, Gui Santos could receive an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Scores 16 points off bench

Kuminga registered 16 points (6-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds and two assists over 22 minutes during Saturday's 124-115 loss to the Hawks. Kuminga has logged six appearances off the bench since returning from a lengthy absence due to a right ankle sprain that caused him to miss 31 contests between Jan. 5 and March 10. Kuminga has been very consistent, scoring in double digits in each game and crossing the 15-point plateau three times. He's averaging 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.7 steals across 23.2 minutes per game in that span.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Hits for 16 in Thursday's win

Kuminga closed Thursday's 117-114 victory over the Raptors with 16 points (7-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 25 minutes off the bench. In his fifth game back from an ankle injury that cost him over two months of action, Kuminga delivered another steady scoring effort from the second unit. The fourth-year forward is averaging 13.4 points, 3.4 boards, 3.0 assists and 0.8 steals in 23.4 minutes since rejoining the lineup, but Kuminga's workload and usage could be set to increase if Stephen Curry (pelvis) ends up missing more time after checking out of Thursday's game early.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Efficient outing in return

Kuminga (ankle) registered 18 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 20 minutes off the bench in Thursday's 130-104 victory over the Kings. Kuminga produced an efficient performance during his return from a 31-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. The 22-year-old forward operated under a minutes restriction, though he made the most of his limited run, scoring 18-plus for the 15th time across 33 appearances. The club will likely continue to work Kuminga back gradually after an extended absence, and it wouldn't come as a surprise if he remains with the second unit for at least a few more games.

  • Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga: Will be limited Thursday

Head coach Steve Kerr said that Kuminga (ankle) will operate under an unspecified minutes restriction in Thursday's game against Sacramento, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Kerr relayed that Kuminga is "not going to play a huge number of minutes" during his return from a 31-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. The 22-year-old forward will likely play in short bursts, as the club is expected to gradually work him back to full playing form. Kuminga averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 26.0 minutes per contest in 32 regular-season appearances before the injury.
