Magic's Desmond Bane: Modest end to season
Bane posted 16 points (5-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Sunday's 116-94 loss to the Pistons in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Bane scored no more than 18 points for the third straight game, all of which were losses. After leading the series 3-1, Orlando simply ran out of legs, bringing to an end what will likely be viewed as an underwhelming campaign for a team that came into the season with lofty expectations. As for Bane, his first season in Orlando was right on par with his career numbers. He finished the regular season with averages of 20.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 82 games.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Drills five treys in victory
Bane recorded 22 points (7-18 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 37 minutes during Monday's 94-88 win over Detroit in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Bane provided the punch on offense for the Magic on a night in which the team converted at a clip of 32.6 percent from the field. He led the Orlando scoring attack with the help of five made triples and has now put up 20-plus points in back-to-back appearances. Magic's Desmond Bane: Struggles from field in Game 2 loss
Bane ended with 12 points (2-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 98-83 loss to the Pistons in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Bane reached double figures thanks to a strong effort at the charity stripe but struggled from the field as the Magic suffered a double-digit Game 2 loss. After erupting for 34 points (10-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 10-11 FT) against the 76ers to start the Play-In Tournament on April 15, the guard has scored fewer than 20 points on under 40 percent shooting in each of the past three games.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Available for Game 1
Bane (illness) is listed as available for Sunday's Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Pistons.
Bane was a non-participant in the Magic's morning shootaround while dealing with an illness, but he has been cleared to suit up for the start of Orlando's first-round series. The 27-year-old was spectacular in the Play-In Tournament loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday, erupting for 34 points on 10-for-16 shooting. With Orlando now starting their official playoff run against Detroit, Bane should step back into his usual heavy workload on the wing.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Dealing with illness, expected to play
Bane did not participate in morning shootaround due to an illness but is expected to play against the Pistons in Game 1 on Sunday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
While the expectation is that Bane suits up for Game 1, a lot can change up until the 6:30 p.m. ET tipoff, so his status will need to be monitored closely. In the vent that Bane does not play or is limited by his ailment, Anthony Black and Jevon Carter would be poised to take on larger roles against Detroit.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Drops 34 points in loss
Bane supplied 34 points (10-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 10-11 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one block across 40 minutes in Wednesday's 109-97 loss to the 76ers in the Play-In Tournament.
Bane was a bright spot for the Magic, turning in an extremely efficient performance en route to a game-high 34 points while Paolo Banchero struggled. Including the regular season, Bane has reached the 30-point threshold 13 times on the campaign. The 27-year-old swingman will aim to remain productive in Friday's win-or-go-home Play-In Tournament game against the Hornets, who are coming off an overtime win over the Heat on Tuesday.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Limited in crucial loss
Bane provided eight points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 18 minutes during Sunday's 113-108 loss to the Celtics.
Bane was limited to just 18 minutes, closing the regular season with a disappointing effort. It's fair to assume that Orlando was hoping to preserve Bane for the postseason, although plans changed when Boston took charge during the third quarter. Orlando will now face Philadelphia, with the winner securing a playoff spot against Boston.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Notches 27 points in win
Bane finished Sunday's 112-108 victory over New Orleans with 27 points (8-19 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 8-11 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes.
Bane helped the Magic improve to 42-36 on the season. Across 78 appearances, Bane is on track to finish as a third-round value in nine-category formats with 20.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 three-pointers in 34.1 minutes per contest.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Strong stat line in win
Bane amassed 27 points (8-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals over 33 minutes during Friday's 138-127 win over Dallas.
Paolo Banchero didn't have his best performance Friday, but Bane was one of several players who stepped up offensively to carry the Magic in a game where Cooper Flagg scored 51 points for the Mavs. Bane seems to be getting into a groove with the playoffs right around the corner, and he's now scored 20-plus points in three of his last five appearances. He's also been locked in from deep, and this was his fifth straight game in which he drained multiple threes after being limited to just one three-pointer made in a three-game stretch between March 21 and March 24.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Leads Orlando in scoring Tuesday
Bane registered 21 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 115-111 victory over the Suns.
Even though Paolo Banchero and Jalen Suggs posted solid stat lines across the board, it was Bane who led the Magic in scoring. Bane has scored at least 17 points in five games in a row and has made at least two three-pointers in three consecutive appearances, so he's doing what is asked of him. The veteran guard averaged a robust 20.4 points per game in March while shooting 38.3 percent from deep, so fantasy managers shouldn't have a problem relying on him even if he has a few down games here and there.

Magic's Desmond Bane: Productive in win Thursday
Bane amassed 23 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT) and six assists over 35 minutes during Thursday's 121-117 win over Sacramento.
Bane was coming off three straight games in which he couldn't reach the 20-point mark, but he bounced back admirably in this one with a strong shooting performance that also saw him drain three three-pointers. Bane has scored at least 15 points in 11 of his last 12 appearances, and his role as the Magic's No. 2 option behind Paolo Banchero is pretty much set in stone, giving him a solid floor in most slates.
