  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Sent to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. With the activation of Ryan Ritter (finger) from the 10-day IL, Amador will head back to the minors. Amador has appeared in 41 games with Colorado this season, slashing .177/.256/.265 with one home run, 10 RBI, five runs scored, one stolen base and an 11:27 BB:K across 128 trips to the plate.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Recalled, starting Wednesday

The Rockies recalled Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Amador will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Thairo Estrada (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The Rockies will throw Amador into the lineup for Wednesday's series finale versus the Blue Jays, as he'll take over Estrada's usual spot at second base, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The 22-year-old could see regular reps at the keystone while Estrada is out, but Amador has managed just a .180/.253/.256 batting line over 148 career plate appearances at the major-league level.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Demoted Friday

The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. The 22-year-old was called up by Colorado on Sunday and had a productive few days in the majors, going 5-for-9 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs in three games. Despite the demotion Friday, Amador could soon rejoin the big club with Ryan McMahon being traded to the Yankees.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Another productive performance

Amador went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a walk in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Cardinals. Amador recorded multiple hits for the second game in a row since being recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. The highly regarded 22-year-old had a rough start to the season, slashing .146/.240/.225 with one homer and five RBI over 33 games before his May 30 demotion. While his .278 average and .373 OBP over 44 Triple-A games are encouraging, his .409 slugging percentage is underwhelming given the hitter-friendly environment. Still, Amador is off to a strong start in his second stint with the Rockies this season and should see steady playing time on a struggling squad.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Returns to majors

Colorado called up Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, Christian Saez of TheDNVR.com reports. With Ryan Ritter (finger) landing on the 10-day IL on Sunday, Amador was summoned to provide depth in the infield. The 22-year-old struggled in a big-league stint earlier this season, slashing .146/.240/.225 with one home run, five RBI, one steal and a 24.5 percent strikeout rate over 33 contests. Amador has been swinging a hot bat of late with Albuquerque though, going 13-for-36 (.361 batting average) with eight RBI over his past eight games.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Sitting out Wednesday

Amador is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers. Amador has been seeing most of the starts at second base for the Rockies of late, but he's yet to completely run away with a full-time job, batting just .158 with a 28.1 percent strikeout rate since being promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-April. Owen Miller will get the nod at the keystone Wednesday.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Sitting out nightcap

Amador isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against Detroit. Amador went 0-for-3 during a blowout loss in Game 1, dropping his batting average down to just .152 on the year. He'll grab a seat on the bench for the final half of Thursday's activities, opening up second base for Owen Miller.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Losing playing time

Amador is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants. On the bench for the third time in four games after slashing just .179/.238/.333 through his first 15 games of the season, Amador could be at risk of a demotion now that the Rockies have seemingly pulled the plug on him as an everyday player. Colorado will give Kyle Farmer the start at second base Sunday, and Owen Miller also remains in the mix for occasional playing time at the keystone.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Sitting down Thursday

Amador isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants. Despite going 4-for-11 in his last three games, Amador will sit down for the third time in the last five days against Justin Verlander and the Giants. Kyle Farmer will fill in at second base and bat seventh.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Not in lineup Tuesday

Amador is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta. Amador will come off the bench for the second time in the last three days. Since being recalled from Triple-A earlier this month, Amador is slashing .219/.286/.406 with three doubles, one home run, three RBI and two runs scored across 36 plate appearances. Kyle Farmer is getting the nod at second base and batting seventh versus AJ Smith-Shawver.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Homer, steal in loss

Amador went 3-for-4 with a homer, a double, a steal and two RBI in Saturday's 6-4 loss to Cincinnati. The 22-year-old made his third consecutive start at second base and popped his first MLB homer off Hunter Greene in the fifth inning. Amador also pilfered his first bag of the season earlier in the game. The switch hitter should continue to get regular playing time with the Rockies as long as Ezequiel Tovar (hip) remains on the injured list.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Getting regular run at 2B

Amador will start at second base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Royals. After being called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on April 13 when Tyler Freeman (oblique) was placed on the injured list, Amador initially looked on track to fill Freeman's role as a backup infielder. However, with Ezequiel Tovar joining Freeman on the IL less than a week later, Amador has moved into a near-everyday role in the middle infield alongside Kyle Farmer. Amador will make his seventh start in nine games Wednesday, but he's thus far done little with his opportunity, going 2-for-20 with no walks and eight strikeouts.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Hitless in season debut

Amador went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Sunday against the Padres. Amador was summoned to the majors Sunday as Tyler Freeman (oblique) landed on the injured list and Amador hit ninth while starting at second base. While he didn't make an impact with the bat, he did make a nice play with his glove. It's unclear how much Amador will play as Kyle Farmer has served as Colorado's primary second baseman, but Amador possesses an intriguing power-speed profile and is capable of making consistent contact.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Set to be promoted to majors

The Rockies are set to recall Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Sunday's game against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. The Rockies have already promoted top prospects Chase Dollander and Zac Veen in the early going this season and are once again dipping into their prospect pool as the team searches for offense. Through 49 plate appearances at Triple-A, Amador is slashing .275/.408/.450 with two home runs, four RBI, nine runs and three stolen bases. Amador figures to slot in at second base for the Rockies once his promotion becomes official. Amador saw action in 10 regular-season games for the Rockies last season but hit just .171 across 36 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Headed to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. Amador surprisingly made the jump from Double-A Hartford to the majors last June, but he slashed just .171/.194/.200 over 10 games with the Rockies before being shut down with a right oblique strain. Once healthy, he was optioned back to Hartford, where he finished the season with a .227/.341/.373 slash line to go with 14 home runs and 35 stolen bases across 453 plate appearances. Though the Rockies non-tendered Brendan Rodgers in November, the team brought in Thairo Estrada on a one-year deal later in the offseason, and he projects to open the season as Colorado's everyday second baseman. However, given the minimal investment in Estrada, the Rockies likely won't hesitate to open up a full-time role for Amador once the organization is confident that he's ready for another look in the big leagues.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Activated, optioned to Double-A

The Rockies reinstated Amador (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and optioned him to Double-A Hartford. Amador has been playing in rehab games with Hartford while working his way back from a right oblique strain, and he will remain with the Yard Goats now that he's made a full recovery. The 21-year-old went just 6-for-35 (.171) during his first career stint in the majors, and with a .659 OPS through 213 Double-A plate appearances, he clearly still needs more time to develop before he's ready for a more permanent role on the Rockies.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Ready for rehab assignment

Amador (oblique) was sent to Double-A Hartford on Sunday to begin a rehab assignment. Amador has been on the 10-day injured list for a little over a week with a strained oblique but has been cleared to return to game action. He should be ready to be activated soon, but with Brendan Rodgers beating him back from the IL, Amador is likely to remain with Hartford upon his activation rather than returning to the Rockies.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Hits 10-day IL

Amador (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday. Amador suffered a right oblique strain in Thursday's game against the Dodgers, a injury similar to one he sustained earlier in the season at Double-A Hartford. Considering Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) is coming off the IL and Amador put up a .394 OPS in 10 big-league games, the 21-year-old doesn't have a clear path to at-bats in Colorado once he gets healthy.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Out of Friday's lineup

Amador (oblique) is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Nationals. Amador had to be pulled from Thursday's game against the Dodgers with a mild oblique issue. It seems at this point to be more of a day-to-day situation, but between the injury, his slow start and Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) being due back soon, Amador looks like an easy drop in most redraft leagues.

  • Rockies' Adael Amador: Suffers oblique strain

Manager Bud Black said Amador was removed from Thursday's game against the Dodgers due to a "mild oblique strain," Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports. Amador appeared to be wincing after his at-bat in the seventh inning and was replaced in the field before the eighth frame. The 21-year-old suffered a similar injury earlier in the season while with Double-A Hartford, and it remains to be seen whether he'll require a trip to the injured list.
