Rockies' Michael Toglia: Sent to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Toglia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
The 26-year-old recently fell into more of a part-time role and has now lost his place on the major-league roster. Toglia has played in 85 games for the Rockies this season and has a .194/.261/.361 slash line and 38.3 percent strikeout rate over 329 plate appearances.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Homers in loss
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Guardians.
Toglia's lone hit of the night went deep to left field in the seventh. It was his first hit since July 18 and just his second home run since June 19. There's known power in Toglia's bat, but he has played himself out of a regular role at first base due to his cold hitting.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Losing out on regular starts
Toglia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
Toglia appears to have lost his regular role at first base to Warming Bernabel, as he'll be on the bench Sunday for the third time in four games. Since getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on June 16, Toglia has hit .193 with four home runs and one steal in 30 games while continuing to strike out at a high rate (37.3 percent).

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Not starting Saturday
Toglia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Orioles, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
After going 0-for-15 over his last four games, the switch-hitting Toglia will step out of the starting nine Saturday against left-handed starter Trevor Rogers. Warming Bernabel will make his MLB debut as Colorado's first baseman while Toglia rests.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Sitting again Wednesday
Toglia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Toglia will take a seat for the second time in the series while he's batting just .155/.231/.239 with a 39.7 percent strikeout rate over his last 20 games. Kyle Farmer will get the nod at first base Wednesday, and Toglia could soon be headed back to Triple-A Albuquerque if he's unable to cut down on the strikeouts in his future starts.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Heading to bench Monday
Toglia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
Orlando Arcia will get the start at first base while Toglia exits the lineup for the first time since July 3. Since slugging his 10th home run of the season in a July 6 win over the White Sox, Toglia's production has tailed off at the plate. He's slashing just .125/.200/.188 with a pair of extra-base hits (both doubles) and a 40 percent strikeout rate over his last nine games.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Breaks home run drought
Toglia went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Sunday against the White Sox.
Toglia had gone 13 starts since homering, but he ended that drought Sunday with a two-run blast in the fifth inning. Despite the lack of power, he's in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 7-for-23. Since being recalled June 16, Toglia has 10 RBI and five runs scored across 18 contests while hitting .250.

After slugging three home runs in his first three games following his June 16 call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque, Toglia has gone 9-for-48 with a 44 percent strikeout rate over his last 12 games. He'll get a day off to regroup while Orlando Arcia occupies first base.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Trio of doubles
Toglia went 3-for-5 with two RBI doubles and an additional double during Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Dodgers.
Toglia clubbed a double in each of his first three at-bats, marking his fifth three-hit game of the campaign and his first career game with three doubles. In 242 plate appearances this season, Toglia is slashing .210/.277/.397 with nine home runs and three stolen bases.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Homers again
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Nationals.
Toglia has started three straight games since being recalled by Colorado on Monday and has showcased the power that was missing earlier in the season. He homered in a second consecutive contest Wednesday with a solo blast in the sixth inning and has three total since his promotion. While that production is encouraging, he has struck out once in every contest and has a 38.2 percent overall strikeout rate across 220 plate appearances for the season.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Leads franchise-record barrage
Toglia went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Nationals.
In his second game back in the majors following a promotion from Triple-A Albuquerque, Toglia took Michael Soroka deep in the fourth inning before getting hold of a Jackson Rutledge cutter in the seventh, leading the charge as the Rockies tied a franchise record with seven homers on the night. Toglia's power has never been in question, only his ability to make enough contact -- through 56 games for Colorado this season he's produced eight home runs and 24 RBI, but a .205/.273/.385 slash line and a ghastly 38.4 percent strikeout rate.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Returns to big leagues
The Rockies recalled Toglia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.
Toglia was sent down in late May after slashing only .194/.266/.349 with a 39.1 percent strikeout rate in his first 54 games. He cut his strikeout rate to a more respectable 29.4 percent at Albuquerque while collecting a .921 OPS and three home runs in 11 contests. Making contact remains an issue for Toglia, but he should play every day at first base, and his power upside makes him worth picking back up in fantasy leagues for managers in need of corner infield or outfield help.

However, the 26-year-old first baseman has slashed .194/.266/.349 with two steals, six home runs, 20 RBI and a league-leading 81 strikeouts in 186 plate appearances. Toglia will go to the minors to regain his form at the plate, with Keston Hiura being promoted to the majors in a corresponding move.

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Drives in one in return to lineup
Toglia went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI on Saturday against the Yankees.
Toglia was held out of the lineup for three games spanning Wednesday to Friday to work on his approach at the plate. He returned to the lineup Saturday to drive in Colorado's only run with a triple in the fourth inning. Toglia has been in a season-long slump with few signs of turning it around, as he has gone just 12-for-65 (.184) with three homers, seven RBI and six runs scored across 20 games in May.
