  • Padres' Jorge Quintana: Heading to San Diego

    The Padres acquired Quintana, left-hander Nestor Cortes (elbow) and cash from the Padres on Thursday in exchange for outfielder Brandon Lockridge. Quintana received a significant signing bonus after joining the Brewers organization as a teenager out of Venezuela in January 2024, but he has performed merely adequately at the rookie-ball level. The 18-year-old infielder posted a .264/.349/.403 slash line with three home runs and 19 steals in 50 games in the Arizona Complex League this season.
