The Cardinals promoted Lin from High-A Peoria to Double-A Springfield on Tuesday.
Peoria placed Lin on its 7-day injured list with an unspecified injury coming out of the All-Star break, but the 23-year-old was activated Aug. 5 and made three starts prior to receiving a promotion. The right-hander turned in a 4.89 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 46:29 K:BB over 38.2 innings in 12 total starts with Peoria on the season.

Lin was placed on the 7-day injured list at High-A Peoria on Thursday with an undisclosed injury.
It's not clear when Lin was hurt or what injury he's battling, but he had struggled in his last five starts with Peoria, posting a 7.27 ERA and 23:18 K:BB over 17.1 frames. The 6-foot-7 Lin is one of the Cardinals' better pitching prospects, but he's yet to advance past A-ball at 23 years old and is now injured.

Lin (undisclosed) was reinstated from High-A Peoria's 7-day injured list Sunday and allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings in his Midwest League debut.
Lin missed the first month of the season due to an unspecified issue but received the green light to join Peoria after making a two-inning start for Single-A Palm Beach on May 4. The 23-year-old righty took the loss in his Peoria debut, but he was able to pound the strike zone Sunday, carrying over a trend from last season. He spent the entire 2024 campaign with Palm Beach and turned in a stellar 18.8 K-BB% across 116 innings in the Florida State League.

High-A Peoria placed Lin on the injured list with an undisclosed injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.
Lin is a hard thrower with a starter's pitch mix who logged a 2.79 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 123:36 K:BB in 116 innings as a 22-year-old at Single-A last season. He's a little behind his peers developmentally, and he has yet to have success against age-appropriate competition.
