  • Reds' Brady Singer: Excluded from wild-card roster

Singer is not on the Reds' wild-card roster. Singer started Sunday's regular-season finale, so he likely would have been available to pitch in the wild-card series only in a limited relief capacity. It's possible -- though not a given -- that he'll crack the rotation if the Reds advance to the NLDS.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Fans five in loss

Singer (14-12) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk over 3.1 innings to take the loss Sunday at Milwaukee. He struck out five. The 29-year-old labored in this outing, requiring 71 pitches to complete his 10-out appearance. Singer yielded a run on a Brice Turang double in the third before being tagged for a two-run homer by Danny Jansen in the fourth, chasing the righty from the game. This performance wraps Singer's first regular season with the Reds. He pitched to a 4.03 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 163:60 K:BB across 169.2 total frames.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Surrenders four runs

Singer (14-11) yielded four runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings Tuesday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Pirates. All four runs against Singer came in the second inning, capped off by Oneil Cruz's two-run blast. After a stretch of six consecutive quality starts, Singer has failed to complete six innings in either of his last two appearances. Tuesday was the first time he gave up more than three runs in an outing since Aug. 7, which was also against the Pirates. Singer now owns a 3.95 ERA with a 158:59 K:BB through 166.1 frames. He's expected to take the mound in Milwaukee this weekend for his final start of the regular season.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Up to 14 wins

Singer (14-10) earned the win Wednesday over the Cardinals, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six. Singer gave up a solo shot to Alec Burleson in the first inning but limited the damage from there, allowing just an unearned run in the sixth en route to a 6-2 Reds' victory. The 29-year-old Singer has been impressive down the stretch, posting a 2.28 ERA in nine starts since the beginning of August. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.86 with a 1.22 WHIP and 155:59 K:BB across 30 starts (161 innings) this year. Singer is tentatively lined up to face the Pirates at home his next time out.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Allows two homers in loss

Singer (13-10) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics. Singer gave up a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first to Lawrence Butler and also surrendered the first of Carlos Cortes' two solo shots in the game. While this was a sixth straight quality start for Singer, it was the first time he'd allowed a long ball in that span. He's given up eight runs over his last 36 innings while posting a 36:9 K:BB. For the season, the right-hander has a 3.94 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 149:57 K:BB across 155.1 innings over 29 starts. Singer is projected for a road start in St. Louis next week.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Nabs 13th win

Singer (13-9) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks over six innings in a 6-3 victory over the Mets. He struck out five. While the right-hander's control was a little shaky and he threw just 58 of 99 pitches for strikes, Singer kept the damage to a minimum and got backed by three homers from the Cincinnati offense, including Sal Stewart's first career long ball. Singer has won four straight decisions while delivering five straight quality starts, a stretch in which he's posted a stellar 1.80 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB over 30 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend against the A's.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Fans nine in no-decision

Singer did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 6-1 win at Arizona. He allowed one run on a hit and three walks over six innings with nine strikeouts. The 29-year-old notched his fifth quality start out of his last six appearances, as he struck out nine or more batters for the fourth time this season. The lone blemish on Singer's line came via a Lourdes Gurriel sacrifice fly in the first, with the only base knock allowed being a Geraldo Perdomo triple to open the frame. Over his last six outings, Singer has looked like an ace, going 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB across 35 innings. The Cincinnati right-hander will look to continue his recent run of success in his next start, which is currently scheduled to come in his team's upcoming weekend series at home against St. Louis.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Steady in 11th win

Singer (11-9) allowed one run on six hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Angels on Monday. Singer has logged three quality starts over four outings in August, allowing a total of five runs across 21.2 innings this month. A Taylor Ward RBI double in the first inning accounted for the lone run on Singer's line in this start. For the season, Singer is at a 4.18 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 123:49 K:BB through 131.1 innings across 25 starts. His next outing is projected to be a road start versus the Dodgers next week, assuming Nick Lodolo (finger) is able to return this week and the Reds move to a six-man rotation to accommodate that. Singer would be on regular rest if he gets moved up to pitch in this weekend's series in Arizona.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Blanks Philly for win No. 10

Singer (10-9) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing three hits over six scoreless innings in a 6-1 victory over the Phillies. He struck out six without walking a batter. The 29-year-old righty retired the first 12 batters he faced and only ran into trouble in his final inning, when a pair of two-out hits put runners at second and third. Singer was able to coax a groundout from Kyle Schwarber to end the threat, however. The quality start was his 10th of the year, and after a rough outing against the Nationals on July 21, Singer's posted a 1.96 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB in 23 innings over his last four trips to the mound. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week against the Angels.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Fans eight in win

Singer (8-8) yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings Sunday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Rays. Singer was outstanding Sunday, rolling through seven shutout frames before Taylor Walls knocked a solo shot in the eighth. Singer threw 67 of 97 pitches for strikes and forced 16 whiffs, tying his season best. It was his first scoreless start since his season debut March 31. His dominant outing snapped a 0-4 skid over his previous six appearances. During that losing streak, he posted a 6.18 ERA. Singer dropped his season ERA to 4.60 with a 101:43 K:BB across 109.2 frames. His next outing is projected to be at home against Atlanta.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Yields two runs in losing effort

Singer (7-7) took the loss Monday against Miami, allowing two runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out three. After fanning 20 in 14 innings over his three previous starts, Singer struggled to keep the Marlins lineup off balance, generating a paltry six whiffs out of his 96 total pitches. The Cincinnati right-hander coughed up both runs in the fifth inning -- the first on an Agustin Ramirez double and the second on a Liam Hicks single. Singer has pitched to a 4.32 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 83:39 K:BB across 93.2 frames in his first season with the Reds. He is currently slated to make his next start against the Rockies at home this weekend.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Strikes out nine in loss

Singer (7-6) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks with nine strikeouts over five innings. Singer allowed runs in three separate innings but managed a season-high nine strikeouts in a losing effort. It was the first time in eight starts this year that the 28-year-old surrendered more than three earned runs, though he's issued at least three walks in six of those outings. He'll carry a 4.31 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 76:36 K:BB across 85.2 innings into a road matchup with the Red Sox next week.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Stingy in seventh win

Singer (7-4) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over six innings during an 11-1 rout of the Tigers. He struck out four. The right-hander delivered his fifth quality start of the season on 96 pitches (56 strikes), and a six-run fifth inning by Cincinnati gave Singer all the run support he wound need. He's given up three runs or fewer in six straight outings, posting a 3.55 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 21:17 K:BB over 33 innings during that stretch. Singer will look to build on this performance in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in St. Louis.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Picks up sixth win

Singer (6-3) got the win Tuesday over the Royals, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out three over seven innings. The Royals picked up a pair of runs in the second inning against Singer but he otherwise shut down his former club while reaching seven innings for the first time since his season debut. None of the hits Singer allowed went for extra bases and it was his second consecutive outing not allowing a home run. However, Singer has not had more than four strikeouts in an outing since April 23 and has a 17:14 K:BB over his last six starts. He'll look to make it two wins in a row when the Brewers come to town to begin next week.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Fights control in Wednesday's loss

Singer (5-3) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on five hits and four walks over five innings as the Reds were downed 3-1 by the Pirates. He struck out three. Cincinnati's hitters only managed four hits on the afternoon, giving Singer no margin for error, but the right-hander didn't help himself by throwing just 57 of 102 pitches for strikes. The four free passes were a season high, but he's issued multiple walks in four of his last five starts, posting a 6.29 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 14:13 K:BB over 24.1 innings during that stretch. Singer will try to get back on track in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week against Kansas City -- the team he spent the first five seasons of his career with before being traded for Jonathan India in November.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Picks up fifth win

Singer (5-2) earned the win in Friday's victory over Cleveland, giving up three earned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four batters across five innings. Cincinnati's offense gave Singer a 5-0 lead to work with after three innings Friday, and although he gave up a two-RBI single to Carlos Santana in the fourth and a solo homer to Bo Naylor in the fifth, the 28-year-old right-hander did enough to keep the Reds in front. With a 5.01 ERA and 1.31 WHIP through his first nine starts, Singer isn't quite the most reliable starter in the majors, but he'll at least have a favorable matchup during his next outing in Pittsburgh.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Tough loss in Wednesday's matinee

Singer (4-1) took the loss in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four. The Reds gave him no run support in a 6-0 loss, and Singer tossed only 46 of 92 pitches for strikes, but he still came away with his third quality start of the season. The right-hander has looked very good to begin his tenure in Cincinnati, posting a 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB through 33.1 innings. Singer will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Atlanta.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Tuesday's game postponed

Singer won't start Tuesday against the Cardinals since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, John Denton of MLB.com reports. The contest will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, with Singer likely to start one of those contests for Cincinnati. The right-hander has a 3.62 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB across 27.1 innings through six starts this year.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Racks up fourth win

Singer (4-0) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-2 victory over the Marlins, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter. The right-hander delivered his second quality start in five trips to the mound on 88 pitches (61 strikes), including 31 called or swinging strikes. Wednesday's outing was also the first this season in which Singer didn't issue a walk. He'll take a 3.62 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 32:9 K:BB through 27.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Cardinals.

  • Reds' Brady Singer: Tallies third win

Singer (3-0) earned the win against Pittsburgh on Friday, giving up three earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three batters over five innings. Singer took a 5-0 lead into the fifth inning Friday, but after giving up a walk, a double and an Adam Frazier home run in consecutive plate appearances, that lead was quickly cut down to 5-3. He escaped the inning without conceding any more damage, allowing him to qualify for his third win in as many starts to begin the year. He'll carry a 3.18 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into his next start against the Mariners at home.
