Reds' Brady Singer: Excluded from wild-card roster
Singer is not on the Reds' wild-card roster.
Singer started Sunday's regular-season finale, so he likely would have been available to pitch in the wild-card series only in a limited relief capacity. It's possible -- though not a given -- that he'll crack the rotation if the Reds advance to the NLDS.

Reds' Brady Singer: Fans five in loss
Singer (14-12) allowed three runs on five hits and one walk over 3.1 innings to take the loss Sunday at Milwaukee. He struck out five.
The 29-year-old labored in this outing, requiring 71 pitches to complete his 10-out appearance. Singer yielded a run on a Brice Turang double in the third before being tagged for a two-run homer by Danny Jansen in the fourth, chasing the righty from the game. This performance wraps Singer's first regular season with the Reds. He pitched to a 4.03 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 163:60 K:BB across 169.2 total frames.

Reds' Brady Singer: Surrenders four runs
Singer (14-11) yielded four runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings Tuesday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Pirates.
All four runs against Singer came in the second inning, capped off by Oneil Cruz's two-run blast. After a stretch of six consecutive quality starts, Singer has failed to complete six innings in either of his last two appearances. Tuesday was the first time he gave up more than three runs in an outing since Aug. 7, which was also against the Pirates. Singer now owns a 3.95 ERA with a 158:59 K:BB through 166.1 frames. He's expected to take the mound in Milwaukee this weekend for his final start of the regular season.

Reds' Brady Singer: Up to 14 wins
Singer (14-10) earned the win Wednesday over the Cardinals, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.
Singer gave up a solo shot to Alec Burleson in the first inning but limited the damage from there, allowing just an unearned run in the sixth en route to a 6-2 Reds' victory. The 29-year-old Singer has been impressive down the stretch, posting a 2.28 ERA in nine starts since the beginning of August. Overall, his ERA sits at 3.86 with a 1.22 WHIP and 155:59 K:BB across 30 starts (161 innings) this year. Singer is tentatively lined up to face the Pirates at home his next time out.

Reds' Brady Singer: Allows two homers in loss
Singer (13-10) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics.
Singer gave up a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first to Lawrence Butler and also surrendered the first of Carlos Cortes' two solo shots in the game. While this was a sixth straight quality start for Singer, it was the first time he'd allowed a long ball in that span. He's given up eight runs over his last 36 innings while posting a 36:9 K:BB. For the season, the right-hander has a 3.94 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 149:57 K:BB across 155.1 innings over 29 starts. Singer is projected for a road start in St. Louis next week.

Reds' Brady Singer: Nabs 13th win
Singer (13-9) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and four walks over six innings in a 6-3 victory over the Mets. He struck out five.
While the right-hander's control was a little shaky and he threw just 58 of 99 pitches for strikes, Singer kept the damage to a minimum and got backed by three homers from the Cincinnati offense, including Sal Stewart's first career long ball. Singer has won four straight decisions while delivering five straight quality starts, a stretch in which he's posted a stellar 1.80 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 32:8 K:BB over 30 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend against the A's.

It's the fourth straight quality start for Singer, who's gone 5-1 with a 2.20 ERA with 47 strikeouts over his last seven outings (41 innings). The 29-year-old Singer holds a 4.08 ERA on the season with a 1.26 WHIP and 140:52 K:BB across 27 starts (143.1 innings). He's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mets his next time out.

Reds' Brady Singer: Fans nine in no-decision
Singer did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 6-1 win at Arizona. He allowed one run on a hit and three walks over six innings with nine strikeouts.
The 29-year-old notched his fifth quality start out of his last six appearances, as he struck out nine or more batters for the fourth time this season. The lone blemish on Singer's line came via a Lourdes Gurriel sacrifice fly in the first, with the only base knock allowed being a Geraldo Perdomo triple to open the frame. Over his last six outings, Singer has looked like an ace, going 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB across 35 innings. The Cincinnati right-hander will look to continue his recent run of success in his next start, which is currently scheduled to come in his team's upcoming weekend series at home against St. Louis.

Reds' Brady Singer: Steady in 11th win
Singer (11-9) allowed one run on six hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Angels on Monday.
Singer has logged three quality starts over four outings in August, allowing a total of five runs across 21.2 innings this month. A Taylor Ward RBI double in the first inning accounted for the lone run on Singer's line in this start. For the season, Singer is at a 4.18 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 123:49 K:BB through 131.1 innings across 25 starts. His next outing is projected to be a road start versus the Dodgers next week, assuming Nick Lodolo (finger) is able to return this week and the Reds move to a six-man rotation to accommodate that. Singer would be on regular rest if he gets moved up to pitch in this weekend's series in Arizona.

Reds' Brady Singer: Blanks Philly for win No. 10
Singer (10-9) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing three hits over six scoreless innings in a 6-1 victory over the Phillies. He struck out six without walking a batter.
The 29-year-old righty retired the first 12 batters he faced and only ran into trouble in his final inning, when a pair of two-out hits put runners at second and third. Singer was able to coax a groundout from Kyle Schwarber to end the threat, however. The quality start was his 10th of the year, and after a rough outing against the Nationals on July 21, Singer's posted a 1.96 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB in 23 innings over his last four trips to the mound. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week against the Angels.

Reds' Brady Singer: Struggles early in loss
Singer (9-9) took the loss Thursday against the Pirates, allowing four earned runs on six hits and four walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.
Singer struggled to find his command early, walking three consecutive batters and giving up a solo homer to Bryan Reynolds as part of a three-run first inning. The 29-year-old was unable to recover and was lifted at 86 pitches, as he failed to finish four frames for the fourth time through 23 starts this year. The right-hander had delivered back-to-back excellent outings prior to this start, but inconsistency continues to define his season. Singer will carry a 4.53 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 113:48 K:BB across 119.1 innings into his next scheduled outing against the Phillies next week.

Reds' Brady Singer: Fans 10 in ninth win
Singer (9-8) picked up the win in Friday's 3-2 victory over Atlanta, allowing four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out 10.
The right-hander set a new season high in strikeouts as he generated 21 swinging strikes over 97 pitches (66 total strikes). The quality start was Singer's ninth of the year, and while he's given up three runs or fewer in five of six outings since the beginning of July, one rough start against the Nats has left him with a 4.50 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB in 30 innings over that stretch. Singer will look to stay sharp in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Pittsburgh.
