  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Sets new career high in Ks

Caminiti struck out a career-high nine for Single-A Augusta on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings. In addition to setting a new personal best in Ks, Caminiti completed six innings in a start for the first time. The 2024 first-round pick has found another gear since the All-Star break, posting a 1.61 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB over his last 28 innings, and he could be setting the stage for a rapid rise through the Atlanta system in 2026.

  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Fans eight for Augusta

Caminiti struck out eight and allowed one run on one hit and one walk over five innings for Single-A Augusta on Saturday. The 18-year-old southpaw got a late start to the season due to forearm tendinitis, but after four starts in the Florida Complex League to get built up, Caminiti was bumped up to Augusta and dazzled over 62 pitches (43 strikes). A first-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, the second-generation ballplayer -- his uncle was 1996 NL MVP Ken Caminiti -- won't be rushed up the ladder given his age, but he could be an option for the Atlanta rotation in a few years.

  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Makes season debut

Caminiti (forearm) struck out three and allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk across 2.1 innings in his season debut Friday for Atlanta's rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate. The No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, Caminiti made his professional debut with Single-A Augusta late last season, but he stuck around at Atlanta's complex in Florida following spring training while he recovered from forearm tendinitis. The injury was never viewed as a major concern, as Atlanta had likely always planned to manage the 18-year-old lefty's workload in his first full pro season. He'll likely report to Augusta once he gets a few FCL starts under his belt.

  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Still building up

Caminiti (forearm) is throwing in extended spring training, and Atlanta hasn't announced a timeline for him to be assigned to a full-season affiliate, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. The 18-year-old southpaw, selected 24th overall in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, reported some forearm soreness in March and has been brought along slowly as a result. Caminiti is likely to be sent to Single-A Augusta once he's cleared to officially begin his campaign.

  • Braves' Cam Caminiti: Rehabbing forearm issue

Caminiti is in extended spring training rehabbing from forearm tendinitis, Harrison Smajovits of SI.com reports. An MRI did not reveal structural damage for the talented young southpaw, but it's still a forearm issue worth monitoring over the coming weeks. Unlike most of the prep pitchers selected in last year's draft, Caminiti made an appearance in full-season ball after signing. He struck out four over three innings for Single-A Augusta, and that's likely where he'll be assigned once cleared.
