The Diamondbacks voided Burgos' Sept. 2 option to Triple-A Reno on Friday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm contusion, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Burgos suffered the injury during his appearance against the Rangers on Sept. 1. He'll be eligible to return from the injured list whenever he's fully healthy, but there's currently no telling when that may be. Once activated, he may take on a low-leverage role in Arizona's bullpen after posting a 6.08 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 13.1 innings with the D-backs.

Diamondbacks' Juan Burgos: Dealt to Arizona
Rotowire
The Diamondbacks acquired Burgos, first baseman Tyler Locklear and right-hander Hunter Cranton from the Mariners on Wednesday in exchange for third baseman Eugenio Suarez, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Burgos has appeared in four games for the Mariners this season while allowing three earned runs over 6.2 frames and striking out eight batters in the process. He was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma last week but still owns a 40-man roster spot, making him a prime candidate to join the Diamondbacks' injury-depleted bullpen at some point once the big club needs a fresh arm.
