  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Fighting out of slump

Kwan went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 win over Arizona. Kwan extended a hit streak to six games, during which he's gone 9-for-24 (.375) with two extra-base hits, three steals and five runs scored. Prior to his recent uprising, Kwan went 6-for-40 (.150) over nine games. He's up to 14 stolen bases through 118 contests.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Logs two hits in loss

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a double in Friday's 2-0 loss to Atlanta. Kwan was the lone Guardian to record hits in the loss. August hasn't been kind to Kwan, who is slashing .211/.237/.298 over 13 games. The second-half drop-off in 2025 is similar to what happened last year, when Kwan recorded a .206/.316/.302 slash line after the All-Star break.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Goes yard in nightcap

Kwan went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and a second run scored in a 6-4 win over the Royals in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Kwan also went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and a run scored in the first game of the twin bill. The light-hitting outfielder has homered three times over his last three games, and he has eight RBI over eight contests dating back to July 12. For the season, he's slashing .286/.351/.413 with nine homers, 37 RBI, 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, one triple and 11 stolen bases across 98 games as Cleveland's primary leadoff hitter.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Has first multi-homer game

Kwan went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk during Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles. Kwan hadn't hit a home run since June 13, but he knocked out two for the first multi-homer game of his career Thursday. It was a rare display of power for the 27-year-old, who is up to just eight home runs on the year. He's much more known for his ability to get on base and limit strikeouts, which he continues to show this season with a .287/.352/.410 slash line with 38 walks and just 35 strikeouts in 376 at-bats.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: On base five times

Kwan went 2-for-3 with three walks and a run scored in Monday's 10-5 win over the Orioles. Kwan missed the first three games following the All-Star break with pain in his right wrist. He was back in his normal role Monday, starting in left field and batting leadoff. He batted .138 (4-for-29) in the seven games leading up to the All-Star Game.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Returning to starting nine

Kwan (wrist) will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game versus the Orioles. Kwan sat out each of the Guardians' first three games coming out of the All-Star break after receiving a pain-killing injection in his injured right wrist. However, the All-Star outfielder feels well enough to give it a go in Monday's series opener.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Absence continuing Sunday

Kwan (wrist) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics. The outfielder said Saturday that his wrist is feeling better after receiving an injection Wednesday, but he'll still sit Sunday for the third straight game coming out of the All-Star break. Nolan Jones will again man left field in place of Kwan, opening up right field for Johnathan Rodriguez.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Optimistic following injection

Kwan said Saturday that his wrist is doing much better after receiving a shot Wednesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. "I got the shot. It's been recovering well. Happy with the progression of it so far, so I'm cautiously optimistic about it," the outfielder said. Kwan's missed Cleveland's first two games coming out of the All-Star break, but it looks like he'll avoid a stint on the injured list. "I don't think this is an IL case at all. He's feeling better each day," Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt said Saturday. Kwan took swings and went through outfield drills prior to Saturday's game. While he's been out, Nolan Jones has handled left field.

Kwan broke a scoreless tie with his RBI double in the eighth inning and added an RBI sacrifice fly in the 10th. He has multiple hits in three of his last four games after a brief 3-for-28 (.107) skid over his previous seven contests. Kwan is now slashing .298/.358/.419 with 27 extra-base hits and 28 RBI through 370 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Pair of knocks in loss

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a walk in Thursday's 1-0 extra-inning loss to the Cubs. Kwan tallied his 28th multi-hit game of the season, but he was caught stealing for the second time this year. The left fielder was batting a torrid .333 as of May 9, but he's cooled down quite a bit following the hot start to the campaign. Kwan is still batting a healthy .260 over his last 169 at-bats, but he has only two home runs, 11 doubles, nine RBI and 12 runs scored during this 44-game period.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Pops sixth homer

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-2 loss to the Mariners. Kwan went back-to-back with Nolan Jones in the third inning. Beyond that, there wasn't much success for the Cleveland offense, as Kwan had half of the team's four hits. He has four multi-hit efforts over his last 10 games, going 11-for-36 (.306) in that span. The light-hitting outfielder is up to six homers, 23 RBI, 32 runs scored, nine stolen bases and a .308/.370/.435 slash line over 65 contests this season. He's locked in as Cleveland's regular leadoff hitter.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Rare day off Wednesday

Kwan is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Reds. The Guardians are facing lefty Nick Lodolo on Wednesday, marking the third straight day they've gone up against a southpaw. The lefty-swinging Kwan will get a rare day off in the series finale, after going hitless in the first two games against Cincinnati. Nolan Jones will start in left field and bat sixth as the Guardians try to avoid a sweep.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Trio of hits in defeat

Kwan went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored during Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Astros in 10 innings. Kwan put on a hitting display Saturday, notching three hits in a game for the seventh time on the season. The 27-year-old continues to show great bat-to-ball skills, evidenced by an 8.7 percent strikeout rate, the fourth lowest in MLB, and the fact that he has only two fewer walks (21) than strikeouts (23). The left-handed leadoff hitter is slashing .314/.375/.435 on the season with 14 doubles and 21 RBI on the season.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Absent from Friday's lineup

Kwan is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Astros on Friday. Kwan will get a day off after starting in the Guardians' last nine games, going 7-for-32 (.219) with one steal, one home run and three RBI in that span. Kwan doubled and singled in the third and fourth frames, respectively, before cutting the deficit to one run in the sixth on a solo home run to right field. It was the sixth time this season that Kwan has recorded at least three hits in a game, and four those games have come in May. He'll finish the month with a .308/.374/.413 slash line, four steals, eight doubles, one home run and five RBI in 115 plate appearances.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Leaves with wrist inflammation

Kwan exited Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to right wrist inflammation, Chris Assenheimer of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Nolan Jones replaced Kwan in left field to start the fourth inning, and we now know wrist inflammation is the reason for Kwan's departure. He can be considered day-to-day moving forward. The Guardians are off Thursday before starting a three-game homestand against the Angels on Friday.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Lifted from game Wednesday

Kwan was removed from Wednesday's game against the Dodgers for unknown reasons, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Kwan was replaced by Nolan Jones in left field following the third inning, but it's unclear what prompted the change. Considering Kwan's everyday role and elite production, it's likely due to some injury or illness. We'll likely receive an update later Wednesday.

  • Guardians' Steven Kwan: Getting rare day off

Kwan is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. With opening pitch for Sunday's game at 11:35 a.m. EDT and ace lefty Tarik Skubal on the hill for the Tigers, Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt likely decided that it was an ideal time to give the left-handed-hitting Kwan his first day off this season. Nolan Jones will cover Kwan's usual spot in left field, while Angel Martinez serves as the Guardians' table setter.

The 27-year-old outfielder singled twice Tuesday and scored a run during Cleveland's three-run sixth inning. Kwan is now slashing .341/.400/.505 with 17 runs scored through 23 games.
