  • Dodgers' CJ Alexander: Remains in organization

The Dodgers outrighted Alexander to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Alexander cleared waivers after being removed from the Dodgers' 40-man roster but will remain in the organization as a depth corner infielder and outfielder. He's a career .259/.328/.482 hitter at the Triple-A level.

  • Dodgers' CJ Alexander: Booted from 40-man roster

The Dodgers designated Alexander for assignment Monday. Alexander was just claimed off waivers last week and will now go through the waivers process again. The 28-year-old has spent most of this season at the Triple-A level, slashing .236/.335/.429 between three organizations.

  • Dodgers' CJ Alexander: Claimed by Dodgers

The Dodgers claimed Alexander from the Yankees on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Alexander joins his third organization of 2025 after starting the season with the Athletics and being designated for assignment by the Yankees on Monday. He has appeared in 54 games at the Triple-A level in 2025, slashing .239/.339/.443, and has played in six games in the majors. The third baseman joins the Dodgers after Max Muncy went down with a knee injury in Wednesday night's game. With the Dodgers claiming Alexander, they designated Steward Berroa for assignment Thursday.

  • Yankees' CJ Alexander: Booted from 40-man roster

The Yankees designated Alexander for assignment Monday. The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Geoff Hartlieb, who was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Alexander was a waiver pickup of the Yankees earlier this month and will now go through the waivers process again.

  • Yankees' CJ Alexander: Claimed, optioned by Bronx Bombers

The Yankees claimed Alexander off waivers Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Alexander had been with the Athletics' organization this season until he was DFA'd on Thursday. The 28-year-old went 3-for-17 over six games with the Athletics but posted an .866 OPS with 10 homers, 32 RBI and two stolen bases over 180 plate appearances with Triple-A Las Vegas.

  • Athletics' CJ Alexander: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Athletics optioned Alexander to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday. Since arriving in the big leagues May 23, Alexander went 3-for-17 with eight strikeouts across six games. His poor performance will now result in him heading back to Triple-A in favor of Max Muncy, who was recalled from Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

  • Athletics' CJ Alexander: Taking seat Thursday

Alexander isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game versus Toronto. After making back-to-back starts at first base in the absence of Nick Kurtz (hip) and going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts, Alexander will grab a seat on the bench Thursday. His absence will put Logan Davidson at first base and ninth in the Athletics' batting order.

  • Athletics' CJ Alexander: Exits Monday's game due to injury

Alexander (undisclosed) left in the seventh inning of Monday's spring game against the White Sox, Jessica Kleinschmidt of TheComeback.com reports. Alexander was subbed into Monday's game at the top of the seventh inning for JJ Bleday, but the former exited the game with an apparent injury shortly after and was replaced by Colby Halter.

  • Royals' CJ Alexander: Removed from 40-man roster

The Royals designated Alexander for assignment Saturday, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports. Alexander and Austin Nola were bumped from the 40-man roster to make room for waiver acquisitions Tommy Pham and Robbie Grossman. Outside of four appearances with the big club this summer, Alexander has spent the season to date with Triple-A Omaha, slashing .306/.354/.566 with 17 home runs and 55 RBI in 83 games. While he's old for the level at 28, his success in the minors this season could land Alexander on another team's 40-man roster.

  • Royals' CJ Alexander: Sent back to Omaha

The Royals optioned Alexander to Triple-A Omaha on Friday. Alexander appeared in four games with Kansas City after being called up June 24 but went 1-for-8 with three strikeouts during that stretch. He'll give up his spot on the active roster to Adam Frazier (thumb), who's being reinstated from the IL.

  • Royals' CJ Alexander: Playing time dipping

Alexander is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Guardians. After starting each of the first two games upon his recall, the left-handed hitting Alexander has now been out of the lineup for three straight, and they've all been against righties. Nick Loftin is again handling third base and looks to be the preferred option of the two at the hot corner.

  • Royals' CJ Alexander: Traded to Royals

The Royals acquired Alexander, right-hander Andrew Hoffmann and outfielder Drew Waters from Atlanta on Monday in exchange for the No. 35 overall pick in the 2022 first-year player draft, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Alexander has produced a .258 average with 15 homers, 43 RBI, 41 runs and 13 stolen bases over 271 at-bats in 68 games with Double-A Mississippi this season. However, as a 25-year-old, he's overage for the level and isn't viewed as a major prospect. He'll likely report to Double-A Northwest Arkansas with his new organization.

  • Braves' CJ Alexander: Out with undisclosed injury

Alexander is on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Mississippi with an undisclosed injury. Through his first 11 games at Double-A, Alexander had seven walks and just five strikeouts, but bad luck on balls in play has him sitting with a .143 average. This was an aggressive assignment for the 22-year-old, not because of his age, but because he previously only had 21 games under his belt above rookie ball.
