  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Makes history in Game 1 win

Barger went 2-for-2 with a grand slam during Toronto's 11-4 victory in Game 1 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Friday. Having already scored three runs in the sixth inning, Toronto was on the verge of taking full control of Friday's contest when Barger entered the game to hit for Davis Schneider. With the bases loaded, Barger slugged a 413-foot home run into center field off lefty Anthony Banda, marking the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history. The 25-year-old Barger has gone deep in two of his last three playoff games and is slashing .324/.405/.622 through 42 plate appearances in the postseason.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Goes deep in Game 6 of ALCS

Barger went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and three RBI in Sunday's 6-2 win over Seattle in Game 6 of the ALCS. Barger got the scoring started in bottom of the second inning, driving in Daulton Varsho on a single. The 25-year-old would later add a two-run home run off Logan Gilbert in the fourth inning, notching his second long ball of the playoffs. Barger is now batting .281 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored over 32 at-bats in nine games during the postseason.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Idle for Game 2

Barger is out of the lineup Sunday for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees. The left-handed-hitting Barger will dodge a matchup with southpaw Max Fried in Game 2. Ernie Clement will slide to third base while Isiah Kiner-Falefa plays second base Sunday.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Out of Toronto lineup

Barger is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Orioles. The Blue Jays haven't faced many left-handers lately, but the left-handed-hitting Barger has been out of the lineup each of the last three times they've gone up against a southpaw. George Springer will be in right field and Ernie Clement will play third base Friday versus Trevor Rogers and the Orioles.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Taking seat against lefty

Barger is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees. After starting the last three contests, Barger will hit the bench while the Yankees send southpaw Max Fried to the hill. Barger is slashing just .230/.278/.351 over 79 plate appearances versus lefties on the season.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Barger is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds. • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Idle Saturday

Barger is not in the Blue Jays' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Saturday. • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Resting up Wednesday

Barger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies. With a lefty (Kyle Freeland) on the hill for the Rockies and with the Blue Jays wrapping up their series in Denver with a day game after a night game, Toronto manager John Schneider likely viewed it as an opportune time to give the left-handed-hitting Barger a breather. Barger had started in each of the Blue Jays' last 15 games, slashing .219/.275/.438 with three home runs, 12 RBI and 10 runs during that stretch.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Belts late long shot

Barger went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Royals. Barger made Friday's score a little bit more respectable after he smacked a two-run homer to right field off Thomas Hatch in the ninth inning. It was Barger's 16th home run of the season, which is tied with Vladimir Guerrero for second most on the Blue Jays behind George Springer's (concussion) 18. In the 15 games since the All-Star break, Barger has gone 16-for-58 (.276) with four doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Productive in Thursday's rout

Barger went 1-for-4 with a walk, a triple, two runs scored and two RBI in Thursday's win over the Tigers. His seventh-inning blast into the right-center field gap off left-hander Dietrich Enns was the first triple of Barger's career. The 25-year-old has been locked in since the All-Star break, hitting safety in six of seven games while batting .385 (10-for-26) with three extra-base hits, five runs and six RBI. Barger still sits against tougher southpaw starting pitchers, but it's getting more and more difficult for manager John Schneider to leave him off the lineup card, even in same-handed matchups.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Getting break Saturday

Barger isn't in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Athletics. Barger will begin the contest on the bench with the A's sending a lefty starter (Jacob Lopez) to the mound. Barger started each of Toronto's previous four games, going 3-for-17 with a home run and three RBI during that stretch. Barger went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 8-5 win over the Yankees. Barger opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-out, RBI double before extending the lead to 6-3 in the fifth with a 401-foot solo blast off Clayton Beeter, his 11th this season. The 25-year-old Barger has been red hot at the plate recently, going 7-for-17 with three homers in his last five games. Overall, he's slashing an impressive .272/.332/.521 with 34 runs scored and 32 RBI across 233 plate appearances.

Barger is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees. After going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts while starting at third base in Monday's 5-4 win, the left-handed-hitting Barger will take a seat Tuesday as the Yankees send a second straight lefty starting pitcher (Max Fried) to the hill. Ernie Clement will cover third base and George Springer will occupy right field while Barger exits the starting nine.

The 25-year-old got the Blue Jays on the board in the first inning, going back-to-back with Vladimir Guerrero off Walker Buehler. Barger has slowed down at the plate in June after breaking out in May, but through 90 plate appearances this month he's still slashing a respectable .250/.300/.512 with five of his nine homers on the season, along with 12 RBI and 16 runs.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: On base four times in win

Barger went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, a run scored and an RBI in Wednesday's win over the Diamondbacks. Batting second and starting in right field, Barger continued to scald the ball. Over his last 16 starts, the 25-year-old is slashing .328/.377/.703 with six doubles, six homers, 13 RBI and 15 runs. With Daulton Varsho (hamstring), Anthony Santander (shoulder), Nathan Lukes (concussion) and Myles Straw (ankle) all on the mend, Barger will likely see more work in right field in the short term rather than splitting his time at third base.

Barger went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 5-4 win over Arizona. He's been hot at the plate lately, going 18-for-60 (.300) with 14 runs scored and 12 RBI in his last 16 games.

  • Blue Jays' Addison Barger: On bench Wednesday

Barger is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cardinals. The left-handed-hitting Barger hasn't been a strict platoon player for the Blue Jays this season, but he'll nonetheless head to the bench for Toronto's second straight matchup with a lefty (Matthew Liberatore), after Barger previously sat against Phillies southpaw Jesus Luzardo last Thursday. With Barger out of the lineup, Ernie Clement will cover third base and George Springer will occupy right field.

Barger went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-4 win over Minnesota. Barger is up to seven home runs on the season, five of which have come over his last seven games, and during that span he has a 1.263 OPS with seven runs scored and 10 RBI.
