  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Back in majors

The Blue Jays recalled Fluharty from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. Fluharty hasn't been very effective in the majors this year, pitching to a 4.94 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 47.1 frames. He'll rejoin the big club nonetheless to provide Toronto with extra bullpen depth, replacing the injured Chris Bassitt (back) on the active roster.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Sent to Triple-A

The Blue Jays optioned Fluharty to Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. Fluharty pitched the previous two days, so the Blue Jays will send him to Buffalo in favor of a fresh bullpen arm in Paxton Schultz. Over 51 appearances with the big club this season, Fluharty has netted a 4.94 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 48:24 K:BB in 47.1 innings while collecting four wins, four holds and one save.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Snags first big-league save

Fluharty struck out one without allowing a baserunner over two-thirds of an inning to earn the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Dodgers. Fluharty was stuck into one of the most fearsome situations after an unusually ineffective performance by Jeff Hoffman, who walked five batters Sunday. Fluharty inherited the bases loaded with one out, and he got Shohei Ohtani to strike out before inducing a grounder from Mookie Betts that was enough to end the game. Fluharty is now at a 5.15 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 45:18 K:BB through 43.2 innings while collecting a save and four holds. He's mostly served in a low-leverage role this year -- he was called upon for this save chance only because he was one of two relievers left in the bullpen after the Blue Jays had to empty the tank due to Eric Lauer's poor start.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Back in big-league bullpen

The Blue Jays recalled Fluharty from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday. Fluharty was sent down earlier this month following a rough stretch in which he surrendered 13 runs (12 earned) over his last 7.1 innings. The lefty seemed to right the ship at Buffalo, allowing one run with an 8:2 K:BB in 4.2 frames. Fluharty will give manager John Schneider a third southpaw in the bullpen ahead of a big series against the Yankees.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Blue Jays optioned Fluharty to Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday. He'll lose his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the Toronto bullpen with right-hander Yimi Garcia (shoulder) returning from the 15-day injured list. After getting his first big-league call-up March 30, Fluharty notched three wins and four holds while registering a 5.56 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB over 34 innings.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Collects first big-league win

Fluharty (1-0) picked up his first career win Friday in a victory over the Yankees, giving up one run on one hit and one walk over two-thirds of an inning. It wasn't a clean outing, but after letting New York take a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning on an Austin Wells sacrifice fly, Fluharty got bailed out in the top of the ninth by a three-run surge from the Toronto offense. The 23-year-old lefty has been mostly effective since making his MLB debut at the beginning of April, posting a 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 9:5 K:BB in 8.2 innings.

  • Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty: Gets call to majors

The Blue Jays selected Fluharty's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday. The 23-year-old southpaw will work out of the Toronto bullpen and will likely be limited to low-leverage duties, at least initially. Fluharty spent the entire 2024 season at Buffalo, turning in a 3.63 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 76:25 K:BB in 67 innings.
