Reds' Sal Stewart: Goes deep in win
Stewart went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Brewers.
Stewart got the scoring started with an RBI single in the third inning and later added a solo homer in the sixth. The 21-year-old has more than held his own through his first 58 major-league plate appearances, slashing .255/.293/.545 with five home runs, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.

Reds' Sal Stewart: Losing out on playing time
Stewart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.
On the bench for the third game in a row, Stewart appears to have faded into a utility infield role while Spencer Steer has regained control of primary duties at first base. The Reds will still likely find room for Stewart in the lineup against left-handed pitching, but the rookie's opportunities to play against righties could be sporadic over the final week of the regular season.

Reds' Sal Stewart: Fills in at first base Saturday
Stewart entered Saturday's 6-3 win over the Cubs in the sixth inning to play first base and went 0-for-1 in his lone plate appearance.
Stewart entered the game when left fielder Austin Hays (back) was removed, and Spencer Steer moved from first base to left field. Stewart had been held out of the starting lineups Friday and Saturday, likely in deference to the hot-hitting Steer and the return of third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes, who missed time with a back issue. The Hays injury could lead to opportunities for Stewart at first base, although manager Terry Francona has more options for left field than just Steer. Will Benson and Gavin Lux could also fill in.

Reds' Sal Stewart: Sitting again Saturday
Stewart is not in Saturday's lineup against the Cubs.
Stewart will head to the bench for a second game in a row, Friday against a lefty and Saturday against righty Javier Assad. The righty-hitting rookie has been swinging a hot bat (.972 OPS over his last 11 games), but Spencer Steer has been even more productive of late (three homers, eight RBI over last three games), and Steer is starting at first base and batting second Saturday.

Reds' Sal Stewart: Fills in for injured teammate
Stewart started at third base and went 0-for-3 in Thursday's 1-0 win over the Cubs.
Stewart manned the hot corner for a second consecutive game with Ke'Bryan Hayes nursing soreness in his back. Hayes, who entered as a defensive replacement in the ninth inning Thursday, is expected to see a specialist by Monday. Presumably, Stewart will continue to start at third base until Hayes is ready to resume a full-time role.

Reds' Sal Stewart: Taking seat Friday
Stewart is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
Stewart had started each of the previous six contests but will get a breather Friday after going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts in Thursday's game versus the Cubs. Spencer Steer is handling first base and Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) has returned to the lineup at third base.
